linksys wireless G card problems

please help!!!
i just installed a linksys network, one comp. is wired to the hub - it works perfectly, but my laptop is connected with a wireless card, it detects the roter but it wont connect to the internet, (onec it suddenly connected, but next the time i put on the comp. it didint work, and hasint worked since)?
i get this message external exception eo6d7363?


I'm having the same problem installing a Linksys wireless-G WPC54G version 2 card. This person does not have Cold Fusion or DreamWeaver software on his computer. Have you found a fix yet? Thanks.

Ok, the above quotes pretty much sum up what is happening to me. My landlord just got highspeed and has a netgear wireless router. I got a linksys wireless-G WPC54G version 2 card and i get nothing now. just the external exception. before that, i could see the router, but not connect, or if i could, not to the internet.

So i'm wondering, is it this card? should i take it back and get a net gear[my land lord has it hardwired to his laptop, but has a netgear card to his wife's laptop, and she can use it fine, no problemo] card? or is there some software thing i need to do. I have installed, uninstalled, countless times...

Software. Linksys hardware are fiiiiiine pieces of hardware in networking world, well, at least because they can be thought as budget Cisco hardware.

And as for software error itself, "external exception e6blehbleh" doesn't tell me anything. Stupid Windows. Well, as for detecting/not-detecting, errors usually happen when;

1) Configuration isn't set properly
2) Driver problems
3) Bad hardware

Some routers don't even use a proper standard, so that might be the problem why you can't see it. Configuration, well, I assume you know how to set things to dynamic/static/gateway/etcetc since you're networking afterall. Driver problems, can't help but try to use latest drivers, that's what you pay for using Windows...

I am suspecting bad hardware[on my end]. So i am returning the card today and getting a netgear one. I know that the brand doesnt matter, but this way we'll both be using the same software, so i can check stuff.

As for security, right now it is disabled. Once we get things smoothed over, we'll be setting it up.

So i'm gonna try another card, and then report back. thanks so far...

Have you thought about trying to install the card from the other laptop? It should be straightforward, and would tell you if it's something with your machine or the network box itself. Good luck either way!

then i tried Apple Computers. They don't tell you anything not a clue.

i found the setup for apples much easier than windows

anywhoo... perhaps you got a WEP key encrypted? If you do perhaps you need that WEP key also on your laptop

It was the stupid linksys adapter!

Took it back and got a netgear and now everything works fine-kind of. The signal strength is too weak where I am right now, so i am gonna have to convince my landlord to move the router so i get better signal and be able to connect to the net. Thankgoodness for free dialup backup tho!
