Need help with Teen Bible Study

Postby Warrior 4 Jesus » Thu Apr 14, 2005 9:38 pm

I'm a youth leader at my church for grades 7-8 and I'm writing the Bible study for tonight's youth group section. I've decided to do it on being warriors in God's army and fighting the good fight and also about our souls being a battle ground but I can't find all the Bible passages I'm looking for. So far I've got the armour of God verses from Ephesians. Can anyone help with anymore?

Thanks for the help, guys!

Here is my suggestion. I taught on the armor of God and it was an 8-week study! The reason it was 8 weeks is because we dove into the nitty-gritty details of what exactly we faced and what were each of the pieces of the armor. You do not have to do as I, but if you want to? I got most of my material from Ray Stedman. http://www.pbc.org/dp/stedman/battle/index.html look up the 10 messages from Ephesians and if you don’t want to teach in detail on these subjects, then read them for yourself…they are very good! But you do as you think is best. My class is a bunch of intellectuals, they love to be challenged with complex thought…but some classes are not and that's ok too. Everyone is different.

To have a little fun, we watched STAR WARS, Episode IV, A New Hope. This was our illustration because it had some interesting similarities with the Armor of God.

Well good luck to ya with your class.

God Bless

You taught Ray Stedman to a bunch of intellectuals? I'll have to go back and read him then. I went to PBC for a while, but I didn't really like what was taught from the pulpit.

Ray Stedman is one of the best prechers I have ever heard! He is one of my favorites, right up there with Alistair Begg. I suggest to you to read the Spiritual Warefare Series from Ephesians by Ray Stedman. It is very enlightening! Once you read it, would you PM me and tell me what you think?
