Question

I think i put this in the right area . I'm asking for a definition to fanart, sence all the art forums are for posting art, and this is a question of a definition, i put it in the general section.

OK. I'm new to forums, just started drawing a few months, ago, etc. I dont know too much is what I'm getting at. Basically I want to know if fan art can be any drawing of a character, or a character you did not make up, but the picture u did. My "fanart" drawing are ones I looked at a pic and drew it. Does that count?

If it does count can i just copy and paste my pics on a thread and it work right? Sorry if i posted this wrong and thanks to all willing to help!

Answer to question 1. Actually I think this might do better in art but thats for the mods and admin to decide.

Question 2. Fanart is generally a drawing you make of a charachter that you did not come up with. EG: If I draw a picture of Inuyasha, it would be considered fanart, no matter if I made up the pose and expression. Terming it as fanart is sort of a way of saying: "I like these charachters so much I want to draw them so please don't sue me for copywrite infringement". I believe it counts looking at a picture and copying it, though many artist types will probably suggest you try drawing the chrachters in different poses, especially if the drawings turn out well.

Question 3: Currently the best way is to upload them to image shack or somthing like that and link from there. There is an uploading dialogue as well in this site, but it's iffy right now at best. It can be found when you click go advanced aty the bottom of the Quick reply box.

Thanks manga-ka writah designah. I guess my next step is to find out what "image shack" is. Oh well, i'll figure it out someday. Thanks for the info!
