AHH, I'll be turning 20 this coming June! Halfway to 40. Aww man, time flies, people grow, it's crazy fast! Anybody else still feel like a high schooler at heart? Dreading the responsibilities of life? Still feel like a teenager with those late nights and the hanging with friends? lol, well rant and rave here.

On a serious note:

But alas, we must all leave those things behind, grasp the responsibilities of a maturing life, but still hold dear the people we have made bonds with, and still not lose fun spirit in going through life.

Lol, just felt like posting something up about this. Seriously though, anybody else's thoughts on things they went through in becoming an adult? I'm just asking because these past few months I've been having a rough time, going through a few difficulties in which I had delayed the things I know I need to do in life and etc. I just wanted some Christian input to help me gain insight into a few things I've been contemplating lately. God has been helping me and I am forever grateful to Him. I have not overlooked the blessings in my life even through these tough times. For whatever road God leads me down, I will to the best of my fallen ability walk next to Him, knowing that He will guide me well and that He is the reason I am here.

 whew, ok, sorry for getting all serious, lol. I am tired from not sleeping this past night and I tend to have deep thoughts contemplating life and etc....lol, hope I didn't rant too much. But hey, anybody who wants to post, go ahead. I just wanted to know what it's like for other people around my age to go through transitions in life, be it college, moving out, jobs, and etc.....

Peace and prayers,

Lu (VashTheStampede)

x.X my problem is finding a job no one will hire me because i have no experience anywhere... its lame and i went to college for a semester then got down when half the classes i ended up with were stuff i did in highschool and then my art class was lame... and my computer class was "you push this button to turn on the computer" so i wasn't learning anything new... then i didn't have the money to go back after that and now i'm stuck living with my parents trying to find a job so i can go back to school and take different classes that will actually teach me something... or at least not be so lame...

Wait until you hit the point that you are reading obituaries in the newspaper and notice the average age of death and realize you're over half way there. That's when the midlife hits, you start doing weird things like watching anime and hanging around messageboards with people half your ag...wait a minute...

for the past year or so, i've been tending to start reflecting on all the stuff that i've been through, teh fuh times, the bad times, regrets, and stuff i'm glad i experienced. i still feel young at heart though, but when people you talk to don't remember "the good old days" you start to feel like your getting old.

You know you're getting older when:
*Tv commercials start using songs that used to be on the Top 40 when you were
a kid as musical background.
*Your favorite tv series from when you were a kid just started airing on either
Nick-At-Nite or Tvland.
*The clerk at the audiovideo department of Barnes & Nobles has never heard of
The Captain & Tenille.
*Younger people ask you who Joe Gargiola and Vin Scully were.
*You have to explain to X-Files fans that NO,Vin Scully was NOT related to
Dana Scully.

I'll be 20yrs at the end of July. Can't wait. But yes, I do feel like a high schooler at heart. Although I want to grow up, I also fear change- in a sense. As much as I fear it, we all have to do it, to move on in life. The feeling is much like you get from changing jobs... For example, you can really hate your job you're currently at, but when you finally get an offer from another place, you start doubting... questioning or not if it's truely the right thing to do. We get so used to routine ta change of it usually doesn't settle to good in my stomach. But...
With growing up comes decision making, and although it may not always be easy we always have to choose the right thing to do so we can grow and mature... to life up to our potential

Hehehe, yay! I'm still a spring chicken of sorts.

I don't turn twenty until the first of July. ;)

Seriously though, aging can be rather frightening. I actually quite like being 19, it seems like a nice balance between teenhood and being an adult. Currently, I'm at post secondary, freaking out about second year portfolio applications and trying to figure out my future plans. And my mum has started to mention marriage a wee bit more often, even though I am quite single and psychotically busy (eep!). My mother kinda got married at 19. And then there's moving out; evidently my parents are letting me stay on for free until I'm thru post secondary, but at times I feel as though I'm freeloading. Phew, stress, stress and more stress.

As for the matter of actually aging and being 1/4 to 1/5th of the way through my lifespan. I'm not sure that that really scares me so much. I spent much of my teen years visiting hospitals and seniors homes, and all of my grandparents have since passed away. I accept that I am very mortal and I may only have about 60 years left, that and the fact that time tends to mow you down. It leaves me wanting to appreciate my time, even when I'm doing mundane stuff like riding the bus or making a PB&J sandwich.

I focus the past a lot, probably to the point where it's not a positive thing. The more I do that, the faster life seems to go by. That feeling scares me. I don't feel like I'm almost 2 decades old. I missed out on most social situations and opportunities when I really was in high school, and I just want time to make that up by being involved with friends and all that. I want to be outgoing for once. I want to be cheerful (up until the end of high school I was basically an introspective and self-conscious loner, even when I was with my group of friends). Being cheerful is more fun than being a pessimist. :P

At the same time, I'm still trying to get rid of the feeling that I *should* be married by now. :bang: Most of the girls I knew in high school are engaged or married. My relatives keep talking about my cousin (who's only a couple weeks older than me) and how she'll most likely be married this summer and it's not making it easier to accept that now is NOT the time for me. I'm not failing at life.

I'm not living at home with parents anymore and for the first time I feel like I have the opportunity to be independent and finally mature in my ability to make decisions.

I'm happy that I'm able to begin to move beyond the dependent on parents stage right now. In that way, I'm grateful that so much time has gone by and I can get into a new way of living.

Mitsuki lover: cartoons and franchises from childhood are being brought back for a new "generation." o_O My Little Pony, Care Bears, TMNT, Strawberry Shortcake That is a strange thing. To me, it's more strange than people not knowing who previously popular actors are. :P

But yeah, almost 20 years have gone by so fast. It's all I know, but already a huge chunk of my life on earth is over. Really, though, the more useful part of it is just starting. :)

Dude, I don't feel like I'm going to be twenty in July. Heck, I don't even feel like I'm 17. I guess that could be because I'm still in high school (it wasn't my fault), but I'm not bitter oh no. But I will be graduating in like, six weeks and I am very excited about that.

Yeah, I'm almost 20 too, seems so weird though. I still feel like I'm in high school, just with a bit more freedom. Lol. December 31st and that's it for my teen years... O_O That's just too weird. Might be nice to turn 20, but at the same time, I don't want to. Lol.

I'm past 20 and im not absolutely certain what i want to do nor what God wants me to do. I dont want to just get a job im going to hate just to get a job so im not really doing anything at the moment. God is using this time to teach me things. I've really got little motivation to go out and find a job at the moment. My dad wants me to get one, but I dont have a clue what would be good for me.

The only thing i can think of right now is writing. I love to write creatively. I need some help in finding just what id be best at and what id enjoy doing i guess.

I turn 18 in May....but I'm about to graduate from college with my AA *if all goes well with my last batch of classes*...-_- so life has already grabbed me up fast. Next fall I start on two more years of college for my BA and maybe one more year for a Masters. *shrugs* who knows. I wish I could go back to the days of being able to play video games freely and not having to stress about research papers and such. *sigh*

When I was 20... Reagan was President, the Soviet Union were the Bad Guys, we didn't know about AIDS, the Personal Computer was just coming out, the Macintosh hadn't been manufactured, there was no Internet (but we had the ARPAnet), Rap music was just being born, bands like The Police and The Clash ruled the airwaves, the Challenger and the Columbia were still in one piece, apartheid ruled South Africa, Germany was not one country but two, and the only decent video games were ones you had to feed quarters into in arcades. Times change, times change...

I'll be 20 in September, and I'll be a junior in college (I have to apply to grad. schools next year!). The scariest thing is the weight of responsibility and the knowledge that the safety net is beginning to disappear. Hopefully, this will lead me to looking to God as my refuge from lifes technical difficulties, rather than my parents or anyone else I relied on when I was younger.

I have been reflecting a lot on my past too since I graduated high school. I had never even thought about keeping a dairy until my 19th birthday. I turned 20 almost two months ago and I'm debating on whether I'm going to go back to my earliest memories and write them down, starting around kindergarten and working my way up to where my diary starts. It's a bit daunting but I know there won't be a lot of details until around middle school so I might do it.

Heh heh, i know exactly how ya feel, i'm in the middle of writing a 12,000-18,000 Honours Project report, and its killing me i have to write about 1000 words a day or i'm gonna fail. Luckily i'm over halfway to the minimum word count but my project superviser said that i would probably get a bad mark if i handed in the minimum, so i'm stressing a bit i don't think i'll get much beyond the 14,000 mark.
