O_O

Ok... I dont think this guy has seen many anime. Now I am going to say something a bit unpopular here, but I can see where he is coming from. The shows he mentioned did have objectionable content in it.
However, banning anime would be like banning movies. It would be tossing the baby out with the bathwater.

Anyway, I just wanted to say to everyone who would post here to not bash this guy. While his/her view isn't the same as yours, treat him with respect. God wouldn't like us slamming anyone, let alone a fellow believer

That thing's been around for years. I'd readily bet $20 that at least 50% of the signatures there are flaming or otherwise critiscizing whoever made that petition, whether they were joking or not. At this point I'm leaning towards the "you're joking, right?" view on the petition.

It's stupid, that's all I have to say. That anonymous person should do some backtracking on all the different kinds of anime. There are LOADS and LOADS of clean animes out there. Sheltar of Wings for example. I wish this person would stop assuming things, actually do some research behind anime in ALL styles instead of acting like a numbnut.

Well, what I found objactionable is some of the signatures, the worst is, "Ban anime because it is a sorry excuse for animation made by people with no talent! All the characters look alike!"(as if he can draw any better) And, "Ban anime because it breeds really annoying fans!!". The rest are all badmouthing stuff.

Yeah, I saw it, like 2001 or so. Its nothing really new and alot of people think its a joke as this person is playing.

I was on another board at the time that I saw this and lets just say, some wanted to take it out on me just becuase I was christain at the board for it.

And what he says in the Petition doesn't bug me at all or the people that post. Online Petitions are a joke and never work, even if they are real as what this man wants.

Best thing to do is to pray for them to realize that there is more then meets the eye, and that guy who said that it breeds really annoying fans...that person should keep their mouth shut because they could be offending some really well-known people like Robin Williams and such.

Yes, Robin Williams does like anime, and yes, maybe even George Bush himself does too.

Although I disagree w/ his view, he's intitled to his own opinion.

You can write as many petitions as you want and anime won't go away. I mean, just because I, and many others disagree w/ pornography and it's morality stance, that doesn't mean the problem is going away. If you are going to ban anime, then you might as well ban all the shows on Primetime and all the movies made in hollywood. This guy needs just because you disagree w/ something doesn't mean you have to get congress involved. Life is full of things we disagree w/... deal w/ it.

Edit: I mean, looking at the Signatures people aren't even taking it seriously. Go Figure :P
Example:
2599. Santa Clause + Elf
2597. LuvsAnimeAlot
2596. Osama Bin Ladin's Mom
2595. Osama Bin Ladin
2593. God
2589. frr_vegeta You do know it is unconstitutional to ban anime?
2588. Your Mom
2587. Gotenks
2578. anime r00lz!

The list goes on... Some people just need to get lives and stop over analyzing everything and stop assuming that just because a few animes (or shows) contain certain things people disagree with, doesn't mean it applies to everything in that category.

You know, it's this attitude by many Christians and others of "retreat and complain" that's made Hollywood and most of the entertainment world what it is today.

Because Christians retreated rather than attacking on mass (by that I mean responding with entertainment that could stand toe to toe with the trash that was beginning to rear it's head), we have the problems we do today. Our response to anime should NOT be to retreat from it, but take the art form and transform it into an incredible witness for Christ and a message giver.

I will continue to be a strong proponent of "gate storming" the entertainment arenas until the day I'm proved wrong. And that will have to conflict with Christ's teaching that we are to be salt of the Earth, and salt back then was used as a preservative to keep meat from going bad. So then we too are to be preservatives of society to keep it from going bad as best we can.

End of speech.

I agree with Kokoro. The Doctor's speech is definitely the way to go. Preach until proven wrong which will be NEVER!! God is with us forever.

It's a joke. Read it, it's patently absurd.

"suffice it to say, groups of young men on Love Hina-fueled rampages are raping children at a level unheard of since the 60s"??? And yet, statistics do not bear this out. There is no epidemic of child rape, and I've yet to hear of a single credible source linking the series with pedophilia.

And blasting Oh! My Goddess! for suggesting that someone younger than 18 might possess the capacity to love? The whole petition smacks of "joke". (It even uses the title "Ah! My Goddess!", which was only used in fansubs. Also, as I recall, the only character to whom it could be referring (agewise) would be Skuld, which is basically saying that, before the age of 18, one is incapable of even loving one's siblings. (?!) And yet, this accusation would have at least made some sort of sense had it been leveled at Love Hina, which actually has something of the sort. (More just an adolescent crush, but at least it would make a little bit of sense. Come to think of it, Inuyasha would have been a better target.))

Honestly, it is so plainly and outrageously ludicrous that there's no way that it could have been written seriously. It's obviously a joke.
The cake used to be a lie like you, but then it took a portal to the deception core.

Thanks, but you really should also thank the founders/admins of CAA as well. Whether they realize it or not, God has used them to be the literal ground breakers of a mass movement that I know shall forever change the entertainment world. When Christian entertainment dominates the globe, we should never forget where and how it started. For anime, it was here, at CAA.

The 2nd trigger was the Passion of the Christ. The way I saw it, it was as though Christ was publicly making His mark on the entertainment world. Looked Satan in the eyes and said "I'm taking this now." As I saw Him die on the cross, I pictured that really He was now showing how His death would now be used to sanctify this rotten industry. Boy, aren't you excited!?!?!?!?!!?

Yes, I totally agree with you. This is the reason I loved watching Touched by an Angel and now I love watching Joan of Arcadia, that show is pure genius.

I was so ecstatic to see The Passion of the Christ on the big screen, oh God, praise be to You. I love that movie with all my heart, thank You God, thank You. You guys wouldn't believe how...many...people...were there to see it. Not a dry eye anywhere.
