I do agree that it is a good show, but I personally cannot consider it a classic. For what it is, it is well-done, but after you finish it, it does seem rather forgetful.

But that's my opinion. I am a fan of the show in a very minor way, and I did enjoy it while it lasted. :thumb:

I LOVED how cheap this series was in price. I could get certain volumes on half.com for only $5 after shipping! I thought the first DVD was great, but then for the most part, I think it went all downhill and lost most of its charm.

A good title. I enjoyed it.

I didn't particularly enjoy the first dozen episodes of the series, so never felt it worthwhile to persue it further. However, I suppose that if you find it funny then the series would be enjoyable.

That would be the key. If you enjoy it's brand of subtle humor, you will likely find the show hilarious. If not, then you will find it forgettable.

For the record, I loved it.

I watched the first few episodes...I think the first eight or twelve. It was average, in my opinion. Good, but not great.

I thought the Irresponsible Captain Tylor was better, but that's just my opinion.

I bought the series. I like it quite a bit. I also bought the movie, which is really only good if you have seen and enjoyed the entire series. This is one That I will likly watch again when I have more time.

It was fun to watch, but in the end, it didn't really do much for me.

The ending was one of the worst I've ever seen in an anime series. The movie was even worse. (Incoherent, lousy plot)

Hm, I was thinking about watching the movie...

I've seen the whole series, some episodes more than others. I enjoyed laughing at some of the jokes and making fun of seriously lame parts. It wasn't the best series I've seen, but it was alright.
Didn't appreciate the ending.

I liked the show. It was not meant to be a serious or thought pervoking show. It was meant to be fun to watch and enjoy.

The show was great, I own it (I only own a few DVD's... FotR Extended, TT extended, Sailor Moon R (meant to get first season, but my brother got the wrong one), Nadesico full series, and Grave of the Fireflies... Oh, and Akira, but I'm selling that one...

Yeah... I consdier it classic... It was a monumental Anime for me... The first anime I bought AND kept... Sorta... Well, I bought HALF of one tape, iow split the cost with a friend, he ended up keeping the tape but I bought the DVDs in a boxset... So, that counts still... The first anime I bought was Final Fantasy: Legend of the Crystals... Horrible...

The ending did suck like a hoover... I liked the movie, though... The only problem was the movie was a followup to the GAME which never got released in the US... THat means we are missing a good portion of the story...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evcNPfZlrZs Watch this movie なう。 It's legal, free... And it's more than its premise. It's not saying Fast Food is good food. Just watch it.

Yeah, this series was great! Hilarious! haven't seen the movie yet, though. Ssjjvash, I don't think you truly appreciate all the subtleties and nuances that make this show what it is. Aule1701, you hit it on the NOSE with this one. They poked fun at tons of stuff! Sure, it was lame at times and the romance got on my nerves somewhat, and the ending was odd, but it definitely beat other series *cough*Evangelion'sandFF7'sendings*cough*. I loved it!

Well, I have to agree with you there. It's hard to completely enjoy something of which you don't fully understand.

True. For example, if someone tells a joke and you don't get it, you wouldn't laugh...you wouldn't think it was a good joke. Same as with anime like that.

I actually have seen a lot of the anime Nadesico pokes fun at, so I understood a lot of the "nuances" and "subleties" you mentioned, aule, but I still thought it was a mediocre series. Just like Excel Saga, I can't figure out what all the gushing admiration is about.

That's ironic becuase I feel just the opposite! Image I had read all the hype about Tylor being "a gem in the rough" and was pretty dissapointed once I got my hands on it. But that's just me.

Anyway, I liked Nadesico. It helps if you've seen a lot of anime too because there's a lot of anime in-jokes poking fun at some of the anime cliches.

If you didn't like the ending, you won't like the movie. It only makes things extremely confusing.

This was the first anime series that I bought all of. It's definately in my top 10. I thought the ending wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst either...I'd say that it was about the same as Triguns endin. Adiquete (sp?) but nothing great. I loved most of the humor, especially the Gekigan III show. I think that it does deserve the classic status...I mean it is considered an anime classic in Japan so...Yeah I think that the movie isn't all that great but it works. I think that it wouldv'e been much better as a six episode OVA or something along those lines...

I have a question regarding the ending of Trigun (I presume you mean the anime): did you watch the proper version, that is, with the changed ending credits? Cartoon Network originally broadcast it without these, which seriously weakens the ending. But with them, I felt the series actually resolved decently: the major plot is concluded and we have resolution to Vash's philosophic beliefs.

Nadesico's ending was a tad weak, but it had to be. Considering the rash of anime in the mecha genre recently, Nadesico could not be a successful parody if the ending was actually good.

Yeah I was talking about the anime version of Trigun UC. And I have seen the properly ended version, not the CN version. It did resolve the series pretty well I just think that it was a little weaker than the rest of the show. It was good but it could have been better...I think the same about Nadesico...Pretty good ending that even though it's quite confusing actually ties things up pretty well. It would have been better if it was a few eps longer though...

I'm in the middle of watching Nadesico; its the second anime series i have ever watched on dvd. I have seen a few episodes of other anime when they happen to be on tv, but the only other anime i have really followed (i just started watching anime not to long ago and with almost no friends who like it and how expensive they can be i don't get to watch much) is .hack//sign. I think Nadesico is (so far) decent. It's got some funny parts and then there are times I'm going "uhh that was just.... ummm..... yeah" I don't think its nearly as good as .hack//sign, but then again, they are completely different.
