Anniversary

Postby RoyalWing » Tue Mar 15, 2005 7:23 pm

Ah. I am embarassed about this post and I'm not sure if I should post it. But, here it is~

I joined Christian Anime Alliance in February of last year. Then at the beginning of March, is when I truly said to myself that I believed and wanted to follow Christ. So, now it's one year (well, a bit later..)! And I feel that I still just started yesterday and have too much to learn still, so I hope I continue to be accepted here even if I make alot of mistakes.

So, thank you very much to this community, to those who help me every time and every one for being funny and nice.

This must be boring to read, so now I have a question for you, I hope it's not too personal: When did you become Christian and how long? :jump:

Congratulations RoyalWing! *glomps*

What a wonderful anniversary to celebrate. As for your question, I've been a Christian (albeit usually in name only) since I was 4, and truly decided to get my life focused on Christ at 15 or so. I have had many re-dedications and serious repentance since then, but it's great to know our God is so full of love, grace, and mercy! In fact for the past month or so I have been more alive in Christ than I have any other time in my walk. So yeah, 18 - 4 is 14 years. And I've been at CAA for 3, almost 4 years.

Omedetoo gozaimasu! (sorry Doc and Phil). I will now sing a song for you:

In our headlights, staring bleak
Beer cans... deers' eyes
On the asphalt, underneath
Are crushed plans... and my lies.

Lonely street signs, power lines
They keep on flashing
Flashing by

And we keep driving into the night
It's a late goodbye, such a late goodbye
And we keep driving into the night
It's a late goodbye....
Job 7:16

I loathe my life; I would not live forever. Let me alone, for my days are but a breath.

I'm glad you're here, RoyalWing. We all make mistakes and we all still need to learn. No better place to do both then in the presence of friends. For you, on this special occasion, I will express myself in little used emoticons.

This is a very good thing to celebrate. Very often we humans become extremely concerned over worldly anniversaries and forget those that are of human or spiritual importance. I'm glad that you are with us.

I'm not sure I would put a number on my years as a Christian. Because I grew up in a Christian home, it is difficult to specify a time or place: At what time did I start understanding what I was told? At what point did I actually believe it? But ultimately it doesn't matter, because I am a Christian in the here and now.

Welcome to the family Royal Wing.

I'll see you in Heaven if not sooner. ;-)

Anyhow that is an incredible testimony of just one of the many ways God is using CAA to reach the world. I hope you know Royal Wing that while we are to strive to be perfect like God, it's a standard we will never achieve since we're stuck in these rotten pieces of garbage called flesh, but we are to still try. But God isn't concerned with perfection, He's concerned with direction. Are you headed in the right direction? Are you making progress? These are the questions to be asked, and they have now become my daily prayer to God; that He helps me daily to continue to draw closer to Him and continually make progress.

I wish you the best Royal Wing and may God bless you. If you ever need prayer or help, you know where to come, but I also pray the Lord gives you close Godly friends near you for you to be with on a daily basis, so you can help each other grow in the Lord. And also a mentor, a Godly woman to show you the ropes on how to follow Christ through the easy AND hard times.

I accepted Christ when I was a kid...and kept reaccepting him out of my own legalistic and lack of faith view of salvation; thinking I have to keep asking Him to make sure I was saved. Basically my life is full of ups and downs where I would be on fire for God and going through incredible growth, or falling faster than a B-25 bomber out of fuel,. However, God has been faithful and brought me the Band of Brothers (my Bible study group) and councilors in the faith ( I've noticed people flee when they find out someone has seen a "councilor". Mind you, that is helpful when you want to be alone sometimes. :-) )

Despite my ups and downs though, I'm still a Christian fighting the war against Satan, who has never ceased to keep at me to throw me off, destroy me. His war against me has been neverending and sometimes it gets tiring being continually on 24 hour alert for his incessant assaults against me. But it is not a war he will win so long as I keep fighting. God is working on my heart, and I desperately keep on asking Him to. And He's always been there, even when I feel cut off and alone, He still is there. He doesn't excuse my failings, but He forgives me and continues to work on me and moves me in the right direction.

Thank God for His goodness, and everyone remember me in your prayers.

God bless Royal Wing.

 Happy anniversary! That's awesome.

As for how long I've been a Christian, my story is very similar to Ashley's. I grew up going to church, but didn't fully commit my life to Him until my junior year of high school. Since then I've learned a lot, and re-learned a lot. I still have a lot more to learn and re-learn, no doubt. It's a journey and an adventure. The mistakes we make are part of the journey, and the believers we meet are fellow adventurers.

Here's a poem I wrote about the Journey.
"All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."

I accepted Christ in September of 1979, over 25 years ago. Our learning process is a lifetime experience no matter who you are. Enjoy the journey and your walk with the Lord.

A sincere congradulations to you RoyalWing! ^_^
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
