Anime Angels down again!

Postby TheMelodyMaker » Mon Feb 07, 2005 7:13 am

It's been down since some time yesterday morning/afternoon, but I contacted Nicole (D2M) about it last night and she said she'd look into it today. Will post here with updates; sorry to those of you who haven't been able to get in either.

Yeah, the servers are down for Anime Angels, my personal site (flying-dreams.com) and the webhost's page (hostyard.com). I'm sure they're working to get them back up, as they have hundreds of customers that are probably ticked.

I know it's annoying, but still, one day every four months or so isn't too bad...I'd be surprised if it's not back up by tonight, would guess Wednesday at the latest, I've never seen it take longer than that.

The server's hosting page just came back up, so the rest shouldn't be too far behind. I'll update here as I know more.

Yikes, I hope it gets all straightened up soon. It's pretty frustrating when stuff like that happens but it's just going to make people appreciate AA all the more, right? ;)

Ok, just got this email from the host:

Dear Client,

We are in the process of moving the server that hosts your domain(s) to a new facility.

All servers should be up again within the next 24 to 48 hours.

We do apologize that we were unable to give you prior notice.

So, there ya go...hopefully tonight, if not, like I said, by Wednesday.

The stork brought it, of course, silly head! ;)

On topic, I hope everything gets worked out. I can't stand it when either CAA or AA goes down. *Shakes fist at nasty server problems*
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Lol, just added it, figured that old picture of me was outdated by over 3 years, so there's a newer one. And yeah, I hate it being down too...just when we were getting moving again!!

Ok, latest update:

What seems to have happened is that the host was moving their servers, but after they were moved they were denied access to them! I'm not sure of the reason, but they're setting everything up on temporary servers and all we should have to do now is wait for the DNS to propogate, which should be a few days.

Post here is you can see the site come back up, it depends on your ISP as to when you'll see it up.

Do you have the IP address? People can hard-code that in their DNS tables or host files like we did when CAA had its DNS bumps.

EDIT: As of right now, it is not resolving for me (West Coast).

Yay! I'm finally getting something other than a 404! (For some reason it's just a root directory listing, but it's progress. :thumb: )

Yeah, my assumption is that they're slowly putting all of the sites back online...my personal domain's directory showed up like about 6 hours later. Now I guess we're just waiting for them to re-upload all of their back-ups *crosses fingers* Hopefully soon!!

Are they going to cover any of the downtime, as in refunds?

oh good! Thats a relief! I was scared that Anime Angels had shut down. XD I visit there once in a while, and every time I happen to go there's something going on, like an Admin is leaving or ... something. SO I had gotten scared. XD LOL silly me.

Yeah, they're going to be giving reimbursement. I've been told our files should be up in three days...so I'd assume something more like a week! But cross your fingers!
