Bootlegs Mixin' remix

Postby Joshua Christopher » Mon Feb 28, 2005 9:35 pm

Bootleg=When the creator takes two or more songs and mixes them togther.
See also: Mash-up.

I'm a huge fan of these things. I've been trying to make one myself..with no good results...>_<

"Toxic/Faint" takes a mediocre song, and a terrible song, and makes one great song together. A combo of Britney Spears "Toxic" and Linkin Park's "Faint."

However, the greatest bootleg mash up of all time has to be Stark Effect's "Under Ice". This is a mix of "Ice Ice baby" and "Under Pressure."

Anyone else share my interest?

"The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things... hey... the good things don't always soften the bad things; but vice-versa the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things and make them unimportant." -11th Doctor

"The advice I like to give young artists, or really anybody who’ll listen to me, is not to wait around for inspiration. Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work. If you wait around for the clouds to part and a bolt of lightning to strike you in the brain, you are not going to make an awful lot of work. All the best ideas come out of the process; they come out of the work itself. Things occur to you. If you’re sitting around trying to dream up a great art idea, you can sit there a long time before anything happens. But if you just get to work, something will occur to you and something else will occur to you and something else that you reject will push you in another direction. Inspiration is absolutely unnecessary and somehow deceptive. You feel like you need this great idea before you can get down to work, and I find that’s almost never the case." - Chuck Close

There's a station here that plays a Bootleg once a day during the week. They call them the old school/new school remixes. It contains a popular song R&B from the 70's or 80's and pair it up with a popular R&B or rap song from now. Some of the remixes are better than others but it's fun hearing what they put together.
Sometimes you just need to bang your head against a wall. :bang:

That's odd, bootleg used to mean an illegal copy of a record or movie.

You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. Rom. 6:18

God can do anything, anytime, anyway He wants to.......if He wants to paint me blue and hang me upside down nekkid from an apple tree, thats alright, as long as it's God doing it. Of course, if He comes through with a directive like that, I might have to ask for some I.D. Michael Wanke
