I read it and I didn't see anything "too bad," or "over the top." Actually, I chuckled a little since I'm not much into Mangas myself. I mean, everyone has their opinions, as the the letter Smartypants pointed out. I mean, most people here like anime, no doubt about that. But personally, I don't care much for manga's. Others don't care for certain genres. Personally, I take it w/ a grain of salt just like political cartoons. They are there to spur emotions or reactions. Author's take one aspect , generalization or common misconception about a topic/issue and us it (or poke fun at it). Like when many think "chess player", they think book worm... Although not always true, that's a misconception or generalization. So I don't find it too offensive. I mean, can anyone deny anime characters have huge eyes, or a lot of animes/mangas has breif nudity? Considering many see anime in general as a "cartoon," I can see how people would give mangas or anime a weird glance at first. I mean, we all poke fun of something at some point.... Like at the North Korean "ideal" haircut to look like the leader, or guys poking fun at "Chick Flicks," or what about that episode of Love Hina where they poked fun at RPG's the whole time? It was so stereotypical yet true at the same time. That's what made that episode so funny. I mean, most of my friends view RPG's as, "Okay I attacked, now it's your turn." Also, they see animes as cartoons, nothing more. It's just a generalization...
This is much along the same lines in my eyes- just the author's opinion. We all have our own opinions; like people who can tolerate violence but are repulsed by dramatic slice of life stories, or me not caring much for manga's. Also, we all have our sterotypes we give things or people...
