I do. I'm a waiter and the people I work with are hilarious. We have a great time...except when we're insanely busy.

What do you guys and girls do? Do you enjoy it? I've worked at a job before when, after 3 years, I hated it.

Mines okay, it really depends on the day....

I work BestBuy Inventory. Basically I unload the trucks and stocks the shelves; many of which are 32+ inch tv's. On days we don't have trucks we recieve drop shipments, do pricing, do carry-outs/in's, make sure the stock levels are accurate, transfer things to other stores, help customers find products etc....We are more or less the backbone of the operations. It's not too bad, but I hate the days when we have a humungous truck and we don't get off until 2-3am then getting up in a few hours to head to class at 9am. It can be quite draining. The trucks also explain my odd hours of visitations of CAA- 2:30 am... *Gosh, so very tired.*

The people I work with are pretty cool... Also, we have a Foosball table in the break room. We create teams of 2 and we have tournaments. It always gets really intense. So far, my team are the champs. With my luck, and my teammates skill we are unbeatable :O)

To be honest, my job is okay at best. Sometimes it's fun, sometimes not. As long as I keep active I don't mind. I'm so used to physical labor that standing in one spot really gets both boring and annoying.
So yeah, that's my job. It's not the "dream" job, but it pays the bills (college, car insurance etc). Gotta do whatcha gotta do, right?

I used too build boats at Cobalt Boats, I liked most of the people I worked with but the job was so stressful for me that I got bleeding ulcers and I had to take some meds for it. But now I work in child care and I love it. I think its funny that for some people kids give them ulcers. But not me, the kids are grate for me.

I used to work at a Theme Park called Paramount's King's Island, in the food service department. I loved every day I was there. It was great....for 3 years. Then in my 4th year it all fell apart and I had the worst year of work ever. Everyday I would have to work almost from sun up to sundown. I hated it, that it had consumed my life and I had no life outside of work, and mind you this is during the summer, when I should have a life!

Thank God He told me to leave!

For the most part, yes. I've worked at a local seafood restaraunt for the past 2 years (going on 3rd) as a waitress/hostess/busser (we're all in one; small place). Sometimes I come home dead tired on my feet, but the pay is always good, the girls I work with are usually awesome, and my boss really likes me. It can be a bit of a pain sometimes, but it's a good job with many perks and a real opportunity to serve others. It taught me the simplest things--a smile, an extra offer of kindness, a drink refill--can really change a person's entire day. And I have that opportunity countless times!

So yes, I like my job. Plus I always have manga material!

I love my job about 85% of the time. I work at a piano store, and I triple as a receptionist, saleswoman AND secretary. I wish I got commission and that the pay was better, but I'm a musician, so working around musical instruments and conversing with fellow musicians is a huge plus for me. I've been there for about two years. On top of that, my boss and his wife and family are good Christian people, so that's a huge plus as well.

I like my job most of the time. I'm a producer for a multimedia company. It's very project oriented and I can see my results as I go. Rarely do I do the same thing two days in a row. One day I can be encoding dvds, and the next I could be behind a camera doing a shoot. It's sometimes very draining on the creative juices, but I live.

I was hired to help old ladies figure out Windows but now I do, well, more. It's a great job. Every day I can see directly how my presence is making people's lives better, and I'm always learning about databases, programming, and web design. On top of that, the old ladies bake me cookies as fast as I can eat them.

I am thankful that I have a job but I won't lie...it's not for me. It's one thing to be programming in C or Java for fun or just to learn, but when it comes to doing it as a job eight hours a day...that is a different story. There are deadlines, it's not really fun and creative, instead you mostly have to maintain programs written by former programmers.

Again, I'm glad I have a job but at the same time, I want something more rewarding, engaging and certailny where I have more of a say so or at least input.

my current job and i have a love hate relationship. it's a work-study job at a student loan servicer on campus. usually it's pretty boring and i have nothing or hardly anything to do, and get paid for playing on the computer, but right now... we have to make packets for the may graduates of their entire student loan history, a calculated repayment options page, and little slips of paper telling them who they will be making payments to each month. and i have around 800 little packets to make by not quite the end of march. o_O. and then i will later be addressing by hand envelopes to send these packets to the people who don't come to the info sessions. oog.

but if anyone wants to know about student loans or consolidations, just ask me... lol.

lol. now that i'm done whining about that... this summer, i will be a waitress at a state park resort lodge in South Dakota. should be interesting, lol.

I'm a "parcel" at a grocery/retail store. I push carts, do carryouts, and basically function as a day-time janitor there. I've been in that job since November.

I don't really enjoy the job every day. The people I work with are extremely nice, though, and that makes it worth it. Plus, just helping the customers with things they need is enjoyable.

I work between 20-30 hours a week. My hours are all over the place within business hours to closing. The only constant is that I get Sundays off.

If I stay for a bit longer, I'd most likely have an opportunity to move up to cashier... but I doubt I'll stay here in this city that long.

My job is the best job in the world!--for me, that is.
I may not have enough hours, or get paid enough, but I can't think of any other place I'd rather work. I work at a Christian bookstore.

the atmosphere is great, I get a discount for working there, I know about upcoming stuff in advance and I almost got to go to a concert for free, but I was busy that night and they cancelled anyway.
Plus, the workers are so funny!
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone
And so hold on when there is nothing left in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!' ...you'll be a Man, my son!

Nope, not really. But Im/Gods working on that. ^_^

I rate Commercial Insurance policies for Liberty Mutual… It pays great, but that’s about it. I do get to spend plenty of time at my computer though, which translates into more time with all you guys and The Guild. ;)

So it’s no ALL that bad.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Hmm, yeah I'm going through something like that right now. For over a year now I've worked as an exterior/interior painter. At first, I loved it. My boss was a relative, my hours were semi-flexible and I enjoyed the work. But things have been falling apart for a couple months and these past six weeks have been enough to make me seriously reconsider working the job much longer. I've determined to try and publish one of my children's stories within a year's time.

When I began working, I could only find work in the neighbouring city of Johannesburg which meant a 90 minute drive through the most traffic-congested city South of the Northpole. I needed the money though.

If you feel that the 30 minute trip is worth the money, the experience and the prospect of getting a job you'll enjoy...then go for it!

Wow...so many replies.

Thanks guys, and I'm glad to hear so many love their jobs...but also feel the pain of those who hate theirs.

It does get rough.

But enjoy it while it's fun. That's what I'm doing at the little Italian Restaurant I work at. I can relate to Ashley's situation cause this restaurant, Pizza Tower is the name, is the ONLY one in the whole world and owned by one man, now anyway. It was co founded by NFL Hall of Famer, and Christian, Anthony Munoz.
Anyway, we just have fun together, joke around, and band together when we get busy.

Oh yah, here's a question:
At all of your jobs, do you have that ONE guy or girl who's like the team cheerleader? The comedian or happy person who lightens up everyone's spirits? Seems like they never have a bad mood, or rarely so?
They're fun to work with aren't they?

I guess that would be my job.

I like my job.
I work at Hastings. They sell books, dvds, and software. We basiclly deal with entertainment. The job is cool and the people I work with keep life interesting and are friendly to. Some days are harder then others but when I walk through the checkout line and pay 11 something for a dvd listed at 18.99 its worth it.
I hate all the stupid questions though, "Do you rent dvds?" Would you walk into blockbuster and ask that question...
