I don't think the avatar file limit allows short, animated movie gifs. I've tried before but they are always too big for the file size, both the ones I made as well as others.

As for moveable sig pics, I could proably whip up one for you...depending how big you want it to be and such.

I wouldn't exactly classify that as a 'good' site. That's the type of place I avoid like the plague, because upon loading it besieged me with attempts to download spyware, then wouldn't let me in.

The easiest way is to cut and paste a part of a picture you'd like to use - usually the bust (that's the head and shoulders of a person, not the chest, people) of a character you like. Paste it into a drawing program and save it as a jpg or gif file.

You can also use a drawing program like MSPaint to create your own avatars from scratch.

You may also need to resize the pic since the limit is 90x90 pixels.

Personally, I use PaintShop Pro for most of my picture editing needs, but it's up to you.

Once you have the pic you want to use, you can upload to CAA using the User CP (see the button along the top of the window?)

That's a lot to do on your own if you are not at all computer savvy. There are quite a few folks here famous for helping people get the avatars they want. Do you have a character in mind that you'd like to use? Some one would probably be willing to do the work for you, if you ask. I’ll help you, or one of the others who usually get things done faster than I do will.

i use animation shop 3 that comes with my paint shop pro 7.

animation is a tedious thing, and everyone probably has their own style and program they use it with. it just takes experimentation.

if you dont have a program, then you really dont have anything to work with. =/

though it was a bad program...i was able to use animation shop my last exile dvd and windows media player to make my frist (and only) AMV. it was tedious work. i had to print screen every frame. resize on psp, and paste into a gif animation on psp. then i just took the animated gifs and a sound clip into windows movie maker and messed around to see if the animation should be longer or shorter to match the music.

There are actually better programs out there than what i use...but they are also more expensive, and im just fine with what i have. ^^;
