Sure, if they accepted Jesus Christ as thier savior. It doesn't exclude a certain group of people. I think you can be insane and still be Christian. It's just a mental state such as bi-polar. We had a family friend who was bi-polar yet Christian.

Do you mean mentally impaired people?

If so, this is a touchy subject for believers, along with "What happens to babies when they die?"

The Bible never tells us what happens to these people, and I am reluctant to make a decision, since it can't be proven one way or another.

All I will say is, by God is just and good. Whatever He decrees, is by definition righteous, whether they are sentenced to Heaven or Hell.

They kinda are like babies tho..once thier mind loses all interest of sanity and their actions are based on their mental capacity I supose they have no control on what is right and wrong to do since they cant think clearly enough or sane enough to be councious of their actions. This is just what I think I dont actually know...but I would think after their brain dies each day of reality and what they are capable of doing they are reduced to an infants brain span...they have an innocents and their actions are only of what they mimic. I guess. SO I guess they woudl go to heaven..even if they have lived 30+ years or whatever and have been sane at one point...I supose thier actions would be only be of what they mimic around them since they become dependant on others to get them througha day. I dunno maybe I shouldnt knwo this answer...I'm getting a brain cramp.

Which is why it's a touchy subject. You say that Hell is for those who have rejected God, yet Jesus said,

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. - John 14:6

To me, this would imply that those who are on a remote island who have never heard of Jesus...sorry, but they did not accept Him, and therefore they are doomed to Hell. This cannot be proven, but that is my inteperetation. This is why I believe missionaries are vitally important.

For one could argue, if someone never heard of Jesus, why should we bother sending missionaries? If they're going to go to Heaven automatically, why should we bother? In fact, it would be BAD to send missionaries, because then they would be able to reject Christ.

Do you see how flawed the logic is by saying those who have never heard are accepted into Heaven?

Further, I believe in the concept of Original Sin. We are sinful creatures from birth. The second we are conceived, we are a sinful human being. What does this mean for babies who are killed? I cannot say. I know that God hates sin and cannot stand to look upon it, and we are sinful from birth. Does this mean they are doomed? Perhaps, but...

THE BIBLE NEVER SAYS.

That is the point I was trying to make. You CANNOT tell me that babies and metally retarded people go to Heaven FOR SURE. You DON'T KNOW. To say that you know would be implying that you have knowledge equal to that of the Lord Himself, which is blasphemous and impossible.

As I said...

No one can prove it. God is good. Whatever He does, is good by definition. If you don't agree with His decision, tough. You can't be right.

Uhm, I don't want to be a mod or anything like that. But I don't think we should argue on this bbs about that such a thing? I think you're supposed to discuss by private message, or something.. I guess, let's wait for one to come and say.

I think this is a question that only God knows. But I think, that you should still try to believe and experience what it's like to have life with God, and to share this experience.

But I don't know...

My reasoning is that you have to accept Jesus. I would like to say babies can go to Heaven and I may be wrong but as soon as they are born, a baby has sin in thier heart. That's at least what I believe...

However, babies going to Heaven also goes into abortion and since that's a touchy subject, we shouldn't go into that ::tries really hard to not go into a politcal tangent::

I don't want to get into a debate, I just want to offer a little support to kaemmerite--I personally don't feel your questions regarding these things are off-track or uncommon. I have struggled with the same issues. And as far as I've read, you're right, the Bible never explicity states it.

I believe as you stated that it comes down to belief in God as a righteous being beyond our understanding. He may have plans and ways that we don't even know about to save those seemingly without a chance to be saved. I know I'll never understand or comprehend all the Lord's ways, He's so far above me, so that may just be another area where He has grander designs than I can imagine. And that makes Him awesome, yes? Praise God!

As for insanity, whether it becomes an issue may depend on the degree of insanity. A severe scizophrenic who has little or no psychological contact with reality is a different case than someone with Bipolar Disorder, Depression, or other mood disorders.

I don't see much of a problem with people with mental impairments being saved. Just because one doesn't have the capacity to state their faith doesn't mean they can't accept Jesus in their heart and be saved.

Ezekiel 18:20:
The soul who sins is the one who will die. The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him.

1 John 3:4:
Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness

Mark 16:16
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

James 4:17: Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.

Sin is breaking the laws of god, babies do not know wrong from right, therefor haven't sinned. Also, babies are not born into sin but rather humans are born with a "sinful" nature." Baptism is for the believers and is the salvation from the sin. Babies are unable to practice or believe. To sin you must first know the law, then break the law

But onto the original topic, I think insane people are able to go to heaven. It's about what's in their hearts and what they believe. If they accept Jesus, sure, if not, then I don't think they can.

Oh, I won't argue with your other points, don't worry. ;) I would like to keep this civil.

I just wanted to say, acceptance is not necessarily the opposite of rejection.

For example, I am an Old Earth Creationist. I do not accept the theory of a young earth. Does that mean I reject it? No. It simply means that based on the evidence available, I have made a choice through my logic. I realize it may be wrong, which is why I do not reject the theory of a young earth. However, I by no means accept it.

Just wanted to clear that up. ^^
