Postby bigsleepj » Fri Feb 04, 2005 2:52 am

Nausicaa.net reports the following:

Nausicaa.net wrote:February 2, 2005 [New!] Updated: "Howl's Moving Castle" US Premier on June 10

The El Capitan Theater (owned and operated by Disney) is listing Howl's Moving Castle under June 10.

Brazzo reports that "according to a friend of mine at Exhibitor Relations" the film goes into its first expanded release on June 17.

Thanks to suzi for the news.

  :dizzy:

All I can say is...Mwahahahahaaaawhoohoo! Hopefully it wont take a year before it reaches South African cinemas again. :)

Also let us not forget the release of "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Winds", "Porco Rosso" and "The Cat Returns" on the 23rd of February.

He wants them to learn to walk and must therefore take away His hand; and if only the will to walk is really there, He is pleased even with their stumbles.

Healing hands of God have mercy on our unclean souls
once again. Jesus Christ, Light of the World, burning
bright within our hearts forever. Freedom means love
without condition, without beginning or an end. Here's
my heart, let it be forever Yours, only You can make
every new day seem so new.

Nail pierced hands they run with blood
A splitting brow forced by the thorns
His face is writhing with the pain yet it's comforting to me

Oh joy!! Oh, I just can't wait to see this one.

. . . And of course if Nausicaa ever gets released, I'll want to see that too. *shakes fist at Disney*
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Hurrah! I know I won't be watching any dub version, though. Subtitles all the way for Miyazaki wonderfulness. ^__^

Not to splitting hares, but where are you going to get a subtitled version on the big screen if its a general released with a dub? Unless a film-festival gets a print thats not dubbed then you'll have to skip the big screen for the DVD. Shouldn't such movies be experienced on the big screen rather than the small?

w00t! I'm really looking forward to this movie. I hope it comes to my local theatres, unlike Spirited Away and most other animes... Miyazaki films usually have good English dubs with famous actors/actresses, so I'm not too worried about that. I'd love to see it in the theatres.

Ick, I don't like the look of this one. Sounds packed with sorcery. I don't want to see Spirited Away, so I think I'll be skipping this one as well. >_<

I actually had not heard much about this untill yesturday when I read an article about Miazaki in an old issue of New Yorker magizine. It's good to know that it will be coming our way before too long.
