This is something I was thinking about today. It's so simple, and you've probably heard it a million times before. But, when you really realize what it means and that it is totally for you -- it changes everything! Ready?
Jesus loves you...
Think about that...no matter what you've ever done, no matter how many times you've failed, no matter how many times you've strayed, no matter what you think about yourself or what others think about you, and no matter what you say about yourself or what others think about you, no matter what has ever happened, or what was done to you; He still loves you. And His love for you will never end. He will never give up on you, He will never forget you, He will never leave you.
God loves you beyond description. He wants you to have a relationship with Him and He wants you to grow deeper in your relationship with Him. There is nothing in all creation, nothing in life, no person, no thing -- that can beat a relationship with Him!
I know a few people who, lately, are discouraged in their relationship with God. "I keep doing this over and over...", "I keep failing...", "I just can't do it, it's too hard..."
Don't ever give up! The Christian life is not an easy one. And you know what? You're right, you can't do it. In our own strength, we can't possibly ever live the Christian life. What you need to do, is just focus on your relationship with Christ. Don't try to fix yourself up and then come to God. Come to Him as you are! Come to Him right now! He will make you who He wants you to be.
As we get into His word, talk to Him (pray), meet with other Christians, etc; The Holy Spirit uses those things and works in us to make us who He wants us to be.
Get to know Him more! There is nothing that even begins to compare to this! No amount of money, no material possessions, no boyfriend or girlfriend, no social position, no amount of friends, and I could go on and on...that can beat this! Without God everything is just...nothing...and empty.
If you don't know Him, or if you need help, or anything...send an email to me, or talk to a Christian friend, or your pastor, or whoever you can get ahold of, and they will be more than glad to help you.
But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.--Philippians 3:7-14
