I think your post deserves an official response, so here it is.
No one on our banned list was banned purely for holding a different opinion. You're welcome to think whatever you want, and privately say whatever you want to say.
Publicly, however, by signing up for CAA, you voluntarily (no one is making you join) give up the right to discuss certain topics that we restrict -- things like the Do Not Discuss list, or hot-button topics like homosexuality and politics -- and that we will edit or remove posts and/or users in our own judgment that we think are willfully against the moral stance of this site. When we ask for things to stop, we mean it. When people demonstrate a disregard for the behaviour and morality norms we cite, we will take appropriate action -- including banning.
If this sounds like censorship, it is. But no one is making anyone use CAA, and there are other forums out there if our rules don't fit with someone's mindset.
AR, despite my disappointment with your interest in yaoi, I'm still happy to note that you are willing to abide by the rules of the site, and I look forward to your presence on these forums in that context.
I'm going to lock this thread so it doesn't turn into a further analysis of specific members who were banned, as that simply becomes airing dirty laundry. The moderation staff is available for PM with any questions.
