I love art and making it. My biggest stumbling block is a lack of funds (Scanner, paint, digital camera, canvas . . . all so expensive!). That means most of my creations are simple pencil sketches, oftentimes on lined paper.
However, a little while ago I took an art course from the wife of my church's pastor. She can't draw worth a darn, but her painting is incredible. Under her instruction and supervision, I created three oil paintings.
With what now seems like an ancient digital camera (It uses floppy disks!!!), passed down from my grandfather, I was able to capture the three paintings. I touched them up using the wonders of the Gimp (Which is free, thank God.) and now am putting them here. I'm going to put some of my better sketches here, but the whole process is rather long. Most of my sketches are too light to be visible on that camera . . .
Anyway, tell me what you think. What worked and what didn't. The good points and the bad. Encouragement and constructive criticism are both welcome.
Enjoy my three paintings:
Beauty; Simplicity; Power
Coral Song
&
Darker Shade of Justice (inspired by the Passion of the Christ)
More art will come . . .
