Well, who'd have thought the show I watched with my daughter for all those years was promoting homosexuality? o_0 Wow, what a surprise[sarcasm] <--don't know if I did that right. ^^;;

I just read a really good editorial in our newspaper this morning on this very subject. The conservative gentleman made some great points. Of course, I can't place them all here, but it's basically the fact that this is another embarassment to Christians. It just makes us look comically ignorant and feeds the biased perceptiion the world already views us as.

It would be so much more productive if Christians would just realize the world is the world and they need to be spreading the Gospel of Christ, not conspiracy theories about a cartoon character, whose ratings are dropping.

Well, that's kind of my two cents.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Also don't forget guys.

Some of the most funniest characters in movies, games, tv shows, and movies are the Gay Guys. They are simply hilarious at times, fun to make fun of too

I think the creators were just going with "what's funny"

On the other hand you guys shouldn't be surprized at this. Disney has been doing it since the Little Mermaid. Lion King, etc... at first i thought those were all myths until I actually saw the proof (btw, in the lion king, "gay" was NOT spelled out in the clouds, FACTually "sex" was spelled out)

For the record Volt, there is some disagreement as to whether it was 'S-E-X,' or
'S-F-X' that was spelled out in the Lion King. Anyway...did somebody already make the point the FotF never implied any cartoon characters were gay? Because from the posts I've seen, it seems that some still believe he did.
Whatever. I'm done with this thread. Sponges = Asexual. Why did I waste my time getting the facts straight? I just realized. Nobody cares.

It had to be "sex"...

sex, f***, die, and kill are the 4 words that the brain notices right away, even if they're hidden. Which is why if you take a look at some magazine ads you might just run into a hidden message. The advertising industry has been using those 4 words for years.

Your brain sees the word subconsiously, but your consceince doesn't know what's going on, non-the-less it's a form of subliminal messaging that works most of the time.

Spongebob is like the powerpuff girls.... they got so popular that the're TOO popular for their own good and are starting to sell out.

kind of like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...

anyway about the GayDar (gay radar)... I know guys who are straight and have that ability due to the Holy Spirit's gift of discernment. My online pastor can tell Deep Personal issues, things like weather or not someone's male/female, gay/straight/, christian/non-christian.

Me on teh other hand, having been gay, I've picked up a few "rules of life"
#1) people who you thought were gay, may really surprize you, that's because poeple look at physical features like "lisps" and "gestures".

Phsyical is the body, sexual is the mind. When someone's gay it's a mental thing, not a body thing. While many gays act the same it doesnt' mean ANYTHING, in fact it means nothing.

I can tell when opeple are gay by looking in their eyes, there's just something wierd in it, you can see it. Eyes are the gateway into your soul man, there's no hiding it.

Uhm Lion King is one of my favorite movies, if not my favorite altogether, and I never noticed anything about sex in the clouds. :eyebrow:

I remember Mufasa in the clouds.

Where was this?

(BTW, about the brain recognizing those certain words...maybe I'm just weird or something but that's never happened to me.)

Hehe I can tell if someone's an anime fan/otaku by looking at them. On Fear Factor I'll catch anime fans here and there. They also have the tendency to go "muhaha".

I'm not a huge fan of Spongebob, but I've seen the show a couple of times and was slightly amused.

I think my favorite thing ever was a joke that most kids wouldn't have gotten. He's told to forget everything that has to do with fine dining and breathing, and it shows the inside of his head...there's little Spongebobs running around burning papers and throwing away stuff.

One of the Spongebobs tells another, "Hurry up and get rid of all this stuff or you're fired!"

The second responds, "But I don't actually exist! I'm just a clever metaphor used to illustrate the abstract process of thought!"

Now THAT...is humor, my friends. Like I said, I doubt many children got that joke, but it's hilarious.

It's just a stupid rumor. You can only see it if you have the right mindset. :hits_self :shady: :shake:
Anyway back to the topic. I now see Spongebob will probably go up in the ratings. Thanks, Dobson! Why do the Bible-thumpers out there have to make the rest of the Christians look bad?

I won't get involved in whether or not these rumors are true, but the accuracy of some of the Disney ones Lion King, and The Little Mermaid and Aladdin have been questioned. Interesting site (http://www.snopes.com), using actual screenshots and audio clips to let the reader decide.

Take it or leave it. Some of their material seems convincing and others seem questionable.

People want everyone to be homosexual nowadays...
Buster Baxter? That's not fair at all... That's was my favorite show ever, and I still watch it once in a while.

Then again, it isn't like it's any surprise... We live in a sinful world. We're seeing man's true nature. Only with God will anything be reformed.

I just watched Lion King to see.

There WAS something in the clouds at the end but it looked more like "S" and then two letters. And I mean come ON, it's just clouds...

I clicked the link and saw the stuff in the dust but the dust was not hand-drawn, it was done on computer...whatever.........

(By the way, throw some dirt into the air and take some footage. There are all KINDS of pictures in dirt.)

Just be glad anime is still mostly under the radar for those Bible-thumpers. Then we'd really be in trouble. Luckily, they've only attacked a few titles (Sailor Moon, Cardcaptors, Yu-gi-Oh!, Pokemon, and Escaflowne).

I know....and you know what they said Bakura was? The most disturbing character in the whole series....
I got really upset...but hey....whatever..I like him and that's that. ^_^ Even if someone told me he was pure evil I'd stick up for him. When YuGiOh came over here...they made it so there were good and bad guys./...but in the Japanese...Bakura really isn't that bad...and if you udnerstood his past and why he's doing this stuff....you'd feel sorry for him...;-; *huggles Bakura*
Bakura: *sigh*.............she had to bring up my past...-_-

and...about spongebob...I never really liked the show...but then again...not many Nikelodeon shows ever appealed to me. I also am stuck with one of those mini spongbob ceremic mugs...I found it somewhere...and I've asked around here(Anacortes WA) if anyone wanted it..and no one did...so yeah...oh well...whatever...
