DDR with Mario, eh? That sounds awesome but...sometimes one should just stick with the basics ^^

WOOHOO! I can do light mode and make A's and B's on the slow/medium songs now :D

I got AA on Tsugaru the other day on light O_o Whee! I doubt I could ever be nimble or graceful enough to do heavy, though :/

one of these days I WILL pass an Oni course. it's so freaking hard ; _ ; but I did get 60% into one before failing. so I'm almost there.

I also unlocked MAX300. woot. I can like, almost AA it on light, but on standard I failed. >_>

Keep going Nette. You'll get it. Which one did you get 60% on? And, the 60% is how many perfects out of the whole set you got. You could have been like, on the last song with 60% or something.

Oh, and on an Oni note, the other day, I got 98.0% on Club Trax. ^__^

Oni mode is when you have to play a predetermined set of 7-8 songs in a row (called a "course"), and you have to get all perfects and greats and get OKs on all freeze arrows. for each misstep one "life" is taken away and if you lose all three, you fail. if you lose a life in a song, once the next song starts, you get one back.

I think it was Lesson Oni. and I didn't know that about the perfects. :] I thought it was like, you were 60% done with the course. XD;

I saw this kid the other day (I really shouldn't say kid, he looked about 20 or so, and probably weighed about 200 pounds). Anyway, I don't remember a football or rugby player as agile as this guy. He was doing doubles on heavy going across both pads like nothing. Also, surprising given his weight...he wasn't stomping.

Maybe someone who's been DDRing a while can answer this: Does this game really make you that agile and light on your feet?

I think it does; my ankles are absolutely horrific, and DDR has helped gained back some of their old agility. Well, that and learning how to "dance" around tables at work has made me much more agile and a tad less clumsy (just a tad; I still have my reputation  )

I just began playing standard mode regularly. Good grief, I feel like a total baby on the game again. But Shatterheart my partner in DDR-suckdom ( ) has started playing standard, so I can't be left behind, despite the burn in my ankles. ;)

I just went and played again last night. I'm convinced I'm never moving up to standard, even though I can pass most four footers and a couple of fives. I just screw up way too many steps I know I should get. I really should be moving up to standard in a couple more trips though, and I finally figured out what you guys meant ny 'crossover steps,' even though I cannot do them.

Also, sync and xenon are cool songs. Symmetry is cool. Or as my calc teacher use to say, 'Asthetically pleasing,'

the transition from Light to Standard is a tough one. it took me a long time to cross over into doing fives and sixes, but once you get the hang of those eighth steps, it gets so much easier.

Ah... DDR. My "small group" last year perished because of DDR.
We didn't do any heart-warming small group things, we just played DDR. Regardless, none of us were any good.

Isn't it insane? I tried that song cold one day (your very first song, and if you're smart, it will be a warm-up like Abyss or Absolute) and my legs cramped right up. It ruined the rest of my DDR night. -_- Well, now I feel the need to stop at the arcade on the way home. ^^

Huh. Funny. My warm-up is either like, Xenon or Senorita. >_>; ANYWAY. Burning Heat! is lovely. That song is just so much fun on heavy. Ugh, I love it. I can't wait until tomorrow night, when I escape to my favorite DDR spot and play DDR for like five hours.

I think my record on it is a full combo, which I can do about 90% of the time on it, with 29 greats I think? I want to AAA it soon.

And Desperado, as for your question, nah, man, I don't have Extreme for PS2. I refuse to buy it because you can't disable the corner arrows.

Yes, yes, don't rub it in. ;)

I have Extreme for the ps2, but I don't care for it very much. On the upside, it does have fun songs like Drop Out. I discovered the other day that I still can't do that song without the bar. Shatterheart thought it would be a funny one to pick while we were playing at Lightbringer's. Even with Lightbringer stepping on the pad to hold it still, I couldn't get past the first jumping part. -_-

Yes, V makes me very happy. As crazy as it sounds, I love listening to my feet tap the pads on that song.

There was a time when my warm-up song is HA angelic mix. That was before MMORPGs robbed me of any trace of physical fitness.
