100 Offical CAA Anime Reviews!!

Postby Mangafanatic » Tue Jan 25, 2005 11:59 am

I have been waiting for a long time to make this thread. According to my count, we now have one hundred official CAA anime reviews! I, for one, think this is great cause for celebration!

Let's all take this oppostuinty to that thank all our review writers and our moderators who make these reviews possible. Being a member who found this site through the reviews, I've very thankful for them, and I think they're an incredibly useful tool for all Christian Otakus!

So let me begin the celebration:

Thank you so much moderators (especially Gypsy! ) for giving us all this space to share our reviews with one another! You guys rock (and if you need to move this thread, I won't be offended  ). And to all our reivew writers, I would like to say "THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!" I know that I've really benefitted from what you've written.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I'll celebrate that! That's wonderful. Thank you review writers! (I'd thank you each specifically but I only know one reviewer by name and I don't want to forget anybody  )

I'm glad the review-data-base is growing. I joined CAA just to post a review of "The Castle of Calgiostro" and never submitted anything again . Reading my review over again I see many grammar errors. Doh. And a few other mistakes concerning subtitles. Oh well..

Still I use it whenever I consider buying / renting an anime. I think the review database is what attracts a majority of the Christians to CAA. Those of you who watch more anime than me...keep up the good work reviewing.

Hm; I had not realized that the review segment had reached this state. A database of 100 is actually not bad; it could well be very useful. I trust that it will only continue to grow.

The reviews is why I came to this site and the main reason why we get new members. Wow, 100 reviews. And some inside info...I just sent in two more reviews

Actually Kisa the database itself is here:
http://www.christiananime.com/reviews.php

The Anime Review forum was what we used BEFORE Oldphilosopher kindly lent his awesomeness to our database system, and now it's used to discuss the titles further.

Anyway, I'm extremely excited to hear it has come so far; this is by far one my favorite aspects of the site and one of the most tangible ways we are making a real difference in the world. Huuuuge kudos go to Gyspy for all her countless hours of reviewing and nitpicking, especially when sometimes authors get a little nasty when their review isn't submitted. :glomp: We love you Gyppers!

Good...I finally get an accurate review on Reflections. ^_^

(Yay! Now I can watch it without going BLARRRGH!!!! )
Heart of Sword's Rhapsody

Money, get away
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay
And all and all you're just another brick in the wall
Shoutin’ in the street gonna take on the world some day
But Bismallah will not let me go
Because I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
Bright eyes burning like fire
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids

Who will love a little Sparrow
Who's traveled far and cries for rest
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you!

Considering the database is the main reason we're known, this is a good thing. Plus, I just submitted my first review, My Dear Marie! ^^ I wanted to do FLCL, then Metropolis, but they kept being done before I could get to them. -_-
Think happy thoughts.

Yipee Huray!

Congrats Gypsy, and all you reviewers!
Actually, I joined for the roleplay section, but then a month later realised that there was a review section. Then, I realised that ther was no review for Last Exile, and my heart wept with the tears of a thousand willows. At this point I took the matter into my own hands and wrote a review of Last Exile myself. I wish I could redo parts but it was on the whole pretty good.

once again thanks to all you helpful people

Horray! ^_^

the CAA just keeps on growing!
[font="Tahoma"][SIZE="2"]"It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things."
