A new anime store and a strange feeling.

Talk about anything in here.

A new anime store and a strange feeling.

Postby TheSeaAndStars » Sat Jan 22, 2005 6:09 pm

I noticed that a new anime store opened near where I live(more accurately speaking, closer to me than AnimePop). Well, I guess this is mostly news for those living in Richardson/Plano TX....

The store's name is Studio Anime and it is near the UTD campus.

Now, the weird thing is...... As I was walking into the store, I got this feeling that I was walking right pass some fellow CAA members(yes, it was like rather strange I think). Those ppl exited shortly after I entered the store. I was in the shop at around saturday noonish.

Well, that was a little bit random but I don't think its goofy enough for the goof off threads.

I wondering if anyone was (by some random coincidence) at that store at around the same time I was. Or, perhaps it was just my weird imagination. lol

I haven't seen much for anime stores in my area (I live in CO in case you don't know). I can think of two off the top of my head. One was ok if I recall, but I'd have to visit it again to give a really opinion. The other, "ANIMEniacs" or whatever, is bootleg central. Just about everywhere you look. People were watching fan-subbed Naruto on TV, which isn't even licensed in the US yet. There was a 3 disc Trigun box set as well. Then there were racks and racks of bootleg CDs. Plus the store was just gross spiritually. The woman at the cash register was dark in a spiritual sense, and what was interesting was that she couldn't even look at my mom when she talked. She just couldn't. My parents are good Christians, and I guess she was intimidated by the Holy Spirit in my mom's eyes. I don't remember, for all I know she probably had some demons and the demons in her were scared. It's kind of hard to describe. But it was interesting.
Anyway, I have never had an experience like yours, SeaAndStars. Interesting though.

It couldn't have been me - I've been placed under house arrest from visiting anime stores. :eyeroll: :P

I spent waaaayyyyyy too much money at Anime Pop during Christmas. It was fun while it lasted.

Actually, I've heard about this store from Jen at Anime Pop and she and the other gals there were saying that they've heard the store is run by... get this... people who aren't into anime... Can you believe it? :wow!: They say it is a cold and listless environment. (-_-)\...so sad

You've met Hikari-chan before, right TSaS?

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Jeikobu,

I understand what u r saying.

--

Sometimes ppl can't look at me either or sometimes I have a calming effect on ppl. When God is in us, it has an effect on the ppl around us.

--

There are times when I sense the presense of the Holy Spirit in ppl also.
Sometimes I meet someone who just seems to glow from the inside
and u get an unmistakable feeling that they also know the Truth.

--

These ppl just randomly brighten my day sometimes with
just a smile or when I look into their eyes.

--

The presence of God is seen in both vissible(our actions) and invissible(spirit).

--

Although, I don't know if detecting CAA members can fall into that amazing category. Maybe it counts too. ^__^

-------

ShiroiHikari,

--

You could be right.

I think that is one of several possibilities.

1. Could be true_noir_chloe

2. Could be another CAA member

3. TheSeaAndStars had a random imagination attack while at the store. lol

--

Either way it is, me thinks its groovy.

true_noir_chloe,

--

I spent a lil too much at Anime Pop resently. I know the feeling. ^_^

--

I wouldn't consider Studio Anime's environment to be cold and listless. Although, it has that new store feeling(not as fully loaded as AnimePoP). Its only been open for barely a month I guess. Also, its owned by a former UTD student.

--

I have not had the honor of meeting Hikari-chan yet. I am not in the Richardson area or Richardson Square Mall as often as I used too. And, I yam currently not gonna send myself on a long CAA member finding quest................yet. I am sure we will all meet eventually.:)

On an administrative note, please keep this thread to talking about if you were at the aforementioned store at the right time, NOT how animeniacs is run by demons or anything of the like, ok? Otherwise, this will get closed.

Well, i guess that incident was just my imagination going wild for a sec. anyways, now i'm just gonna ask if any CAA member has visited Studio Anime or AnimePop in the past week(suprisingly, I found myself visiting these anime stores more often than I wanted to for the past week. lol).^_^

Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. You've probably heard of it before in passing - it's a very popular place to host businesses *cough* Enron *cough*

My company is headquartered there as well. Now that I know it is also home to anime stores, perhaps being sent there wouldn't be so bad. If my company ever drags me down south, I'll have to spend my paychecks there.

Yeah, and then, if we ever got in the same store with eachother, we could run around like idiots shouting "She's in here somewhere! I know she is!". And then we could both get hauled off by security together. It could be a board bonding experience.

It would be too funny if several of us have passed eachother without knowing it, though.

I think someone here saw me and didn't say anything, because I was wearing a t-shirt I'd made that had Kenshin and CAA on it. They looked at it for a really long time (we were just standing there), blinked at me, smiled a little, then left...huh.
Heart of Sword's Rhapsody

Money, get away
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay
And all and all you're just another brick in the wall
Shoutin’ in the street gonna take on the world some day
But Bismallah will not let me go
Because I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
Bright eyes burning like fire
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids

Who will love a little Sparrow
Who's traveled far and cries for rest
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you!
