My family history is really kinda vague and confusing..

My dad's side of the family is apparently Scottish, though there is a rumor that there may be German blood on that side of the family too. Evidently people in the Ottawa valley (where my dad is from) wern't too keen on German immigrants around the time of the world wars. Since most of the people in the Ottawa valley are of Scottish/Irish descent, some of the info regarding my dad's family's geneology might have been opportunely changed. I'm hoping that the story is just a rumor, because that's pretty sad if it is true and I can't really picture that sort of discrimination going on there (maybe I'm being naive though).

And on my mom's side I have American great-grandparents who were farmers in Virginia around the turn of the last century, and they originally came over from somewhere in Europe. And then finally, still on my mom's side of the family, there are Jewish and Ukrainian ancestors. The Jewish blood is kinda iffy though, since it was apparently the result of an affair

I'm 50% "Volga German" (People that moved to Russia when Catherine the great came to power) O.o (does that make me german or russian?) The other side is 25% german and some fractions of English and Scotch Irish to fill out that percentage.

"Kotter" is a German last name. I also have a slightly larger than average nose, and I burn like you wouldn't believe in the sunlight. So it's probably fairly safe to assume that there's German in me. I also have freckles, but only on my arms...not on my face. :/

My mom's side, I don't know. Maybe some Scottish or English or...something. I don't know. Whatever, it doesn't matter. I never really cared about my background much.

Lessee, my mother's side of the family is Irish/English/generic European. They moved Stateside in 190_? My dad's side of the family is all Italian, and my great-great grandad supposedly got sick of Italy during/after WWI, apparently he and his unit got stuck hauling cannons/large machine guns? Also supposedly he was only psudeo-legal for a while, jumped a ship, eventually got all his papers in order and was then so proud of them that he carried them everywhere folded up in his wallet. After he died, my grandmom kept them on the wall, framed. I had relatives that didn't speak English so great on that side, and talking to my dad's friends for too long got me adding "ya know what I mean?" to the end of all my sentences. Gah, it's annoying as all get out!

I'm pretty sure I'm about 1/4 Mexican, from my dad. probably some Cherokee from that side as well. there's also some 'white' blood in there somewhere from my mom, most likely English but they're not sure. perhaps some Irish in there somewhere. we are sure of the Chickasaw heritage though, even though for me it goes waaaay back. Don't complain, part of my family is from northern Sweden (just around the arctic circle). Anyways, I'm Swedish, Manx, Irish, English there's some French Hugenot/American Quaker in there too (a long ways back).

So many "mutts" here. We should be thankful for a country where such a thing is OK. In times past (and in some places today) even 98% of one ethnic stock wasn't enough. You'd have been an outcast!

Anyway, my mother's family has been living in oHIo for over a hundred years, so I kind of consider that to be my strongest heritage. However, if you go back far enough, I'm in the lineage of an English Earl. That's right, I'm nobility! But anyone who's spoken to me should already know that, it's obvious by my demeanor!

My dad's side is harder to figure. My paternal grandmother comes from the hills of Kentucky and my grandfather from Tennessee. All I know is there is some native American blood there - my grandfather's grandmother was 100% native american. Unfortunately, I can't trace either line any farther back and I have no idea what tribe my great-great grandmother was from.

So, even if my mother was in the direct line of succession for the Earldom, she would have been disqualified by marrying my commoner father. Not that said earldom still exists today.

my ancestors were spanish, french, portuguese, a bit of italian, mexican indian(i think toltec but i'm not too sure),mix it all together and you get me, a mexican girl that is whiter than most mexican born people, so few people believe me when i tell them i was born in mexico..
