Parent's Jobs

Postby Hitokiri » Thu Jan 20, 2005 7:03 am

What jobs does your parents work at or if you have a job, where do you work?

My mother is a home maker so she's home 24/7 besides when she has errands to run, bible studies, or other stuff girls do.

My dad is a Firefighter Captain so he's gone one day than is home for two days. On those two days, he runs a self-owned carpet cleaning business. I held him when I don't have classes or tons of homework. At times, like on breaks, we work the entire week cleaning carpet. The pay is very good, good hours, and I get to be one of the men I look up to.

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

My mom's a waitress...has been for years, but before that she was a day care person. Dad makes pallets in the family business. Well, makes them and goes out to find more people to buy them.

The choice has been made. There's no looking back. I won't let up, back up, give up, or shut up. My focus clear. My path is straight. My God, reliable. I'm a disciple of Christ.

Gods plan is like the sun. its too big and bright to look at directly, and sometimes the rain clouds cover it, but sometimes the plan dapples through the clouds and we can see beautiful glimpses of what he has in store for us.

My dad is a trucker. Hauls haz mat. I have drivin with him when he is corrosive, explosive, and radioactive all at once. He mostly hauls radioactive stuff. Not the really hot stuff. Most of it doesn't get out of the barrels.

My mom is a homemaker. But she was a teacher before she had me and my bros. That gave her the tools she needed to homeschool me and my brothers.

Me I help people find games and movies at Hastings.

Heh, interesting, isn't it?

Both my parents have retired. My father used to be a marketing executive for Shell while my mother took on various jobs such as babysitting and managing the customer services at a local supermarket. Additionally, my big brother is a mechanical engineer who just switched to supply chain management within his company, Agilent technologies.

The Gas/petroleum company? Didn’t they kill off an African tribe for the oil under their land? *Wonders if that is even true…*

Anyway, my Dad is the safety and warehouse manager for United Natural Foods in Denver CO. My Step father teaches welding for Merriam Graves, and me mom teaches 2nd grade at a Christian School.

Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Up with PKs and MKs!
My dad is currently the missions minister at my church and my mom is a teacher assistant. I'm too young to get a nice paying job. I hope to do something over the summer.
