Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

 I haven't laughed this hard in a long time! Oh, that was priceless, Volt.

*sigh* No, I've never had the pleasure of meeting any CAA members. But I think I would be so excited that I'd pass out if I ever did, though. Me and Kisa's churches sent groups to the same conference and we both thought about going. In the end, neither of us did, which is probably good, because if just one of us had been there then the one who didn't get to go would have probably weeped for a few weeks straight. ;)
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I met former CAA member Haibane Shadsie at Otakon 2004. I'm going this year too, so as I've said before, look for the skinny guy walking around with an old acoustic guitar bedecked with stickers, jamming on video game and anime tunes.

I'm in Aurora. Maybe if you're close by we can hit the nickel arcade some day and play some DDR or something. That is, if you don't mind meeting a 21 year old guy that occasional grows a beard reminiscent of Jake Plummer's "Grizzly Adams" impersonation from this past season. Really, sometimes I get lazy and let the beard grow a bit too long, but I'm a nice guy. Also, I don't have a doll collection like Volt seems too, but I did play with "GI Joes" as a kid without needing to melt them with glue guns, splatter them with ketchup packets, and what have you.

Seriously though Volt, that was hilarious. I'd come and meet you all if I had the resources, but it seems Volt is about the furthest one away from me (maybe after the Mainers).

Anyway yeah, I'm sure you're all awesome, and if you're ever in town on a ski trip or something, let me know in advance and maybe I could really teach you how to carve. Also, Nan Des Kan is in September I think, for those that follow the con circuit. I don't personally, and kinda think it crazy that people will plunk down a few hundred bucks to go to some other state just to stay in a hotel and talk anime, but for what it's worth, Colorado does actually have a con to go to.

Anyway, I know a couple of people on CAA are from Colorado, and I'd love to meet you guys, but I'm not sure how all of your parents would take it. I have no issues with the age difference that is apparent between myself and nearly all of the Colorado members (I hang out with my cousins who are 15-16), but I understand that parents can (and should) be protective of their kids (don't take that as an insult to your maturity, but the fact remains that probably all of the Coloradans here are minors). That said, I probably won't meet a whole lot of you Coloradan CAAers, but it's nice to think about anyways.
