I'm 5'6" but in a family of people who are mostly 5'10" or taller, I might as well be a dwarf (my twelve year old brother is my height for crying out loud!).

Yes. If I were shorter I might go for years without cleaning the top of my refrigerator. But I do clean it, and then I look upon it with my ample stature and see that it is good.
The top of my refrigerator has coffee mugs on it. And butter. In a dish. Not on the refrigerator. That would be nasty.
It is good that I am not ten feet tall, though, because then I would be compelled to clean the top of the cabinets. I hate to think what's up there...

Most of the time I don't mind it. At least I don't hit my head on things all the time. I may get cranky when my kids start calling me shorty though.

I used to be around 6' now I'm around 5'10 3/4".
In other words I'm shrinking into nothingness!
Just joking.It does seem that you do shrink as you age because of lose of
calcium in the bones,etc.
