I just got around to watching an AMV for this video...

Now I have a desire to see this anime. I read the review and such...
Seems like it might be almost as good as GR.

So....any comments?

What I meant to say was, it is a fine series and I heartily enjoin you to partake of it. I believe you will be most fulfilled.

In all seriousness, this is my favorite series. It has some good action, drama, and messages that go along very nicely with Christian morals. To buy this series is money well spent. The only warning I have is that it is not for the squeamish. It's not blood and guts violence, but it can be very emotionally taxing.

Good series defniitely worth watching. It probably does not have enough action for the junkies out there but it has a great story with strong morals. And anything featuring Mark Hamill is OK in my book.

And, no... No matter how good NAT, HAT is, it is an impossibility for it to surpass Giant Robo (Which, mind you, is *NOT* a robot action series, but a drama).

It is 13 episodes long.

I didn't know Mark Hamill was in it. The only time I ever listened to the dub was while writing the review.

I also have to say that I think Akitaroh Daichi is the greatest man in the anime industry today. Everything that I have seen from him has very strong family values and very little fanservice. He does unbelievably hysterical comedies, and also great works of drama. He wrote NTHT after watching a documentary on child soldiers in Africa, and as soon as he was done took all of his children out for the day just to spend time with them. Great man.

Good, I hate long series'. S'probably around the length of Giant Robo (which has seven episodes, but they're all long, ranging between 40 and 60 minutes).

Akitaroh Daichi? What about Yasuhiro Imagawa? Giant Robo has no fanservice either ^_^. Also, it's got a little bit of a moral tale at the end, about sacrifice and our parents. I'll make a deal... I watch NAT, HAT and you watch Giant Robo. ^_^

eBay has the Korean boxed set, which is all region. It's best watched all the way through...but Media Blasters has just released volume 1.

Media Blasters' volume 1(eps 1-2). I have this as well, but I suggest getting the Korean boxed set, it's much better.

I feel like I'm posting late and the conversation has passedme by, but I need to correct myself. Jack Taylor played Hamdo, not Mark Hamill. My mistake. Jack did a brilliant job of imitating Mark playing Hamdo, though.

I have to agree with CDL. This is also my favorite (well it's tie for favorite) anime title. Like he warned it does get really intense not one to watch with younger siblings (unless they are quite mature.) The only complaint I have is that the art could have been a bit better but it fit the series almost perfectly so it's not a big deal.

But I'm alone, as always, so it'll be okay. If I can handle Kill Bill this shouldn't be too bad.
And once again, I must plug Giant Robo. Because I am obsessed with it!

The two are completely different. If I had to compare it to a movie, it's not quite up there with Schilndler's List, but that's the kind of intensity I'm talking about.

NAT, HAT is tied with Escaflowne...Yeah NAT, HAT is much more of an emotional intensity than Kill Bill. The violence isn't all to gory or anything but it's very emotional and you almost feel like your getting hurt along with the characters.

I encourage anyone who wants to see this to check out a review of it first so that they know exactly what they're getting into. 15 is just about the youngest age I could recommend NTHT, and that's a mature 15.

Haha CDL, before I opened the thread I knew (from your avatar) that you would be among the first to reply. And yes, I agree, this is one of the greatest anime I've ever seen. It DOES get intense, as it brings up MANY, Many, moral/controversial issues (my personal reccomendation is mature 14+)...but it's done so well that it may change your entire opinion on certain things (war, child labor, abortion, torture, etc). The symbolism is excellent as well. yeah, It's intense and could be disturbing, but nothing in the sense that it would inspire nightmares. and it's very well worth the watch.
