I can't wait to see it... I hope Disney won't butcher the voice recording once again... Oh... why do I even hope this? I will just stick with subtitle or Korean version.

Whoa!! That's awesomely amazing!!

Disney got the rights to it for sure? Or is that just a guess at the future? 'cause I feel the same way about the Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi dub.

Disney has rights to distribute Ghibli films in America

So far, I haven't seen the English version of Ghibli films that's done right. Gillian Anderson as Moro?? Billy Bob as Jigo? Please!!!

Even though... Minie Driver's version of Lady Eboshi with British accent surprisingly worked well... And Susan Egan is always good.

I was hoping that Disney will keep Jean Reno to be Porco Rosso for the English version (He did the French version). But, I guess they are still going with the star power ride... sigh... Michael Keaton as Porco? We'll see....

6000yens is $57.18 in US currency... that's a bit much for my taste. Howl's Moving Castle, never heard of it. Looks a bit odd to me.

*does his research*

Edit:

This seems to make it look quite interesting....

Also, if anyone cares I found a site where you can download the extended trailer:
http://www.onlineghibli.com/howls_castle/media.php

Though, after reading some more about it, it does look like one that may be worth watching.

I've never really had much of a problem with the voice actors Disney has picked... they seem to fit well enough and personally I thought they where pretty spot-on picking Phil Hartman for Gigi in Kiki's Delivery Service... however I've never seen the originals on any (darn you Disney for not including subed and dubed! *shakes fist*)

The thing in the link looks really cool... paper is it? Bet that would be quite a craft project to put together! :D

Thanks for the cool pics and info. That book's on my top ten list, so I'm dying to see how Ghibli's going to do on it. The trailer looks promising. But alas, I must wait for the state-side release. T_T

It's unconfirmed but Disney is believed to be shooting for a June 2005 release of Howl's Moving Castle in the United States.

Everyone hates Disney Dubs!?

Okay, so I'll admit that I wasn't really feeling alot of the VA choices for Mononke (Clare Danes as Princess Monoke in particular), but I really liked the dub for Spirited Away. Haku's voice, in particular, I thought was absolutely fabulous. Oh well. . . I guess it all comes down to taste.

But I will be seeing the dub of Howl's Flying Castle when it's in theaters atleast. (Disney IS going to give it a threater run, right?)
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I don't have a problem with disney dubs either. I also expect Howl's Moving Castle to be released in theatres. I mean, wasn't Spirited Away? I'm looking forward to seeing this one, looks a bit different then what I'm used to. Should be pretty interesting.
