Here's a few sites that might be helpful:
Dodo's New World [under the tutorials section]
and Duklyon-cafe.org
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.

He wants them to learn to walk and must therefore take away His hand; and if only the will to walk is really there, He is pleased even with their stumbles.

Healing hands of God have mercy on our unclean souls
once again. Jesus Christ, Light of the World, burning
bright within our hearts forever. Freedom means love
without condition, without beginning or an end. Here's
my heart, let it be forever Yours, only You can make
every new day seem so new.

Nail pierced hands they run with blood
A splitting brow forced by the thorns
His face is writhing with the pain yet it's comforting to me

Best start: read the XHTML spec at w3.org (w3.org).

(it's how I learned)
The cake used to be a lie like you, but then it took a portal to the deception core.

I think http://www.htmlgoodies.com is a great place to learn. I learned a bit of html there myself... but I find I don't use it enough to keep it in my brain. So whenever I need to relearn the html I've forgotten, I go back there.

I echo the suggestion of webmonkey. It was my main learning tool to HTMLing and it's kinda fun reading the commentaries. ^__^

Page Resource: http://www.pageresource.com/ (For a LONG time [many many years] this to be the only site I used. He is a GREAT explainer for both HTML and JavaScript)

Jennys Page: http://www.jennyspage.net/tutorials.html (The site hardly exists anymore...but she has the best CSS goodie tutorials. ^^; )

If you want to make your site look good, CSS is the key. @_@;
