Well, my cat Socks had been missing for a while, and he came back a few days ago... He looked kind of bad... His furr was all matted and covered in something really nasty. But we just thought he might just be starved and stuff... But then he wouldn't eat anything. So we took him to the vet, and it turns out that he has antifreeze poisoning. Right now my brother and my Mom are at the vet, and he has to be put to sleep. I've had this cat since I was 3. I used to have to sleep with Socks in my bed, or I wouldn't go to sleep. He was like my teddy bear. And when I was sick, he'd always come and sleep next to me all day. And now he's gone... Or, he will be in a few minutes... And now I'm starting to cry....

Oh, Zelda, I'm so sorry. Loosing a pet is a terrible experience. *hugs Zelda* i'll be praying for you!
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Zelda, there isn't much more I can add to what others have already said except that I know very well the pain of losing a pet. Words don't really help much, but my prayers will be with you in this difficult time.

Man, that's rough. Very sorry for you. And cat's are so cute ='(

I also know how it feels to lose a pet. Lost my oldest, cutest, cuddliest rabbit earlier this year, and it was hard to get over. But you'll be ok, and I'll pray for you.

That should help some. It would be 10 times worse coming home to a completely empty house everday.

EDIT: Made a bit of a typo in that last sentence.....

I can totally sympathize with you. I had this awesome dog that had been my best friend since I was like, less than one. Like you, we did everything together, slept, ate went on walks. then, recently, she had to be put to sleep because of cancer.
I know how you feel and will be praying for you.

My condolences, Zelda. Hopefully you can remember the joy Socks brought you and not dwell on missing him.

Yeah, I'm trying to... Like, I found this old picture I took of him a long time ago, it was so cute. It was him sitting in a box wearing sun glasses. I remember that day...

I remember when my cat died after 18+ years during medical school, and that hurt a lot (especially my dad, who was the one who put him to sleep). I will pray for you and your family.
