What Did You Get for Christmas?

Postby Lunis » Wed Jan 05, 2005 11:34 am

I know there have been a lot of Christmas threads, but I couldn't find any that were about what you actually got for Christmas. If it's too close to other topics, I guess this should be deleted. So, what did everyone get? I got a whole bunch of cool stuff. Here's my list:

1.Trigun hardback manga volumes 1 and 2
2.new sunglasses
3.headphones with a microphone attatched
4.Budokai 3 collectors edition
5.a Lord of the Rings game (I forget the name, but it's played with original characters)
6.the last two Trigun DVDs (so happy!)
7.a remote controlled pinball game from my grandparents
8.Half Life 2 (yeaya!)
9.a of Christian spoof of a Lord of the Rings t-shirt
10.my brother got Spiderman 2 the videogame, and I get to play it
11.lots of basketball socks and a pair of really soft bright green socks :P

I know I got more, but I just can't remember them all.

And since my birthday is pretty close to Christmas, I'll tell you what I got then, too.

1.the three volumes of Trigun Maximum manga that are out in America
2.a life size cardboard stand-up of Legolas from Lord of the Rings (*lol!* Thay got me one of Spike from Buffy: the Vampire Slayer a while ago)
3.a new, really cool looking pair of basketball flip-flop sandals (my old pair was actually tearing at the bridge part)
4.air plane tickets for my family to fly to Arizona to visit my friends for a week in March (woot!)
It is the infirmity of little minds to be dazzled with everything that sparkles.

The most important material thing that I got was money to help send me to World Youth Day in Germany this summer.

I also got a Tony the Tiger cereal set with two bowls and spoons. (you have no idea how valuable this will be in seminary)

A book on the Geography of religion from my dad. (which is a nice gesture since he is an athiest)

Some clothes and gift certificates.

With the gift certificates I bought:
The Simpsons: Season 5
Carried by the Wind: Tsukikage Ran
The original SDF Macross Series (not the Robotech version)

Thanks to Shooby for informing me SDF Macross' impending cancellation, or I might not have purchased it in time.

My list:
A blanket
Napoleon Dynamite dvd
----
That about sums it up.

I wish there wasn't so much emphasis on presents. It really takes away from the true meaning of Christmas. Plus, I can see how many can see this thread as a bit depressing-- seeing how good/better others have it. Kind of seems like a bragging contest. Sorry, just my personal opinion.

Was Napoleon Dynamite a good movie?

Trigun, could you possibly change your avatar to something else? Its a very annoying animation and gives me a headache.

I think you have a point their agafas. Its interesting to hear what people got, but it can be depressing and nullify the true Spirit of Christmas! (Jesus)
