Anime Club Goes Under

Postby ashfire » Tue Jan 04, 2005 4:45 pm

:waah!: It finally happened. The founder of the club that had lasted 8 years said it is time to put and end to the club that many had attend including myself. I guess when you are down to 4 people sitting in a large projection classroom at a community college and no one walks in wanting to be a new member and other members which number in the 30 never return, I guess he had lost hope and threw in the towel.
I think a lot of things were not done to help keep the club moving along.
The club could have helped at anime cons or community prodjects for recognition. Money was a problem because after a while dues were never collected and fund raising was tried and then gave up on.
Some members wanted to make having a fun time a drinking party at anime cons until someone got sick or mad at each other while the rest enjoyed what was happening at the con.
I hope that even thou we will not be going to the college anymore and considered no longer a club that some of us will keep in touch and plan to attend the 6 to 4 hour drive to anime cons together and share rooms at a hotel. OH WELL!! wheres the wall. :bang:

There are no more heroes any more they all died in the night that the world fell into darknes; and good men are trampled down into the dirt never to be seen again. This is the story of this world of ours the story of the corupt and those that would try to save it from them but become corupt themselfs from their own selfish greed and want for what they do not have.

If you had 30 members and they dwindled down to 4, then obviously you guys were doing something very, very wrong that the other people didn't like.

You should try to track down the other members and see if you can find out why they really quit. Might help the club out if it ever restarts.

Some of the members of the club I learned had a family tragedy which ment they had to pull together to keep the family afloat.
Some of the others like I said decided they didn't like restrictions put on the club by the college and grouped up.
Others left for schools outside the area.
Work also got in the way.
One member is a very serious fan boy(Sometimes seems out of control) who may have scared off a few people. If you talked about anything other than anime he would stare off into space. A real Rainman, if you seen the movie.
The one thing that also hurt the club was the internet down loads of anime which some members got to see before the rest of the group.
