[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Uh--- no! There's, um, *thinks fast* a Life Saver on the end of her finger! That's what she's sucking on.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

For the record: Licking your own wound is completely fine; see wounded animals who lick their wounds. It's mainly to just clean the wound, which is completely natural. Just don't lick it so much that there isn't any blood to clot, because then it won't heal or you'll get a nasty scar :(

ewww Bakemono that's so gross ><

But blood does taste good...metalicky... I suck on my finger if I get a cut, but I can't imagine cutting myself >.< I heard saliva has a mineral in it that speeds up healing, so that's probably why when you're little your first instinct when you got a cut was to suck on it (well at least that was my first reaction...).

I love the mineral water that tastes like iron also! But I hate the kind that smells like eggs.... woah, offtopic...

Blood is really an acquired taste, I must say. I used to think my blood tastes awful, but it gets tolerable after you do it a few times.

Drinking other people's blood though.. that's just not cool. Except for the Lord Jesus Christ's blood, then it's good, and tastes yummy, like life and salvation.

Ingy: That's true. In my community, it's common for ppl to eat pig blood curds in dishes and drink snake's blood for medicinal purposes. I do neither, simply because I just can't do it.

Mr. SmartyPants: We have iron in our blood. Yup. I'd rather eat spinach for my supply of iron.

Chloe: Hi ^___^

Kawaiineko: I've never heard of saliva helping blood to clot and I've never had the natural instinct to suck/lick my wound. It's probably good to suck on a wound and spit it out to remove contamination or poison (snake bite) but I'm assuming you guys swallow whatever you lick/suck from your cuts. Either ways, it's not a big issue for me.

Osaka's avatar: I always thought she was merely affectionately nibbling on the bunnies' ears ....not that it makes it any less weird lol

Whoever mentioned the blood testing: I suppose blood isn't super clean.

Trivia: Blood consist of cellular material (99% red blood cells, with white blood cells and platelets making up the remainder), water, amino acids, proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, hormones, vitamins, electrolytes, dissolved gases, and cellular wastes (ick). Each red blood cell is about 1/3 hemoglobin, by volume. Plasma is about 92% water, with plasma proteins as the most abundant solutes. The main plasma protein groups are albumins, globulins, and fibrinogens. The primary blood gases are oxygen, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen. Source: chemistryabout.com

There are many drinks out there that are nice to consume: Iced tea, Mountain Dew (Elric-kun? :eyeroll: ), hot cocoa, cappucino, fruit smoothes, mocha, juices, cider...really, why would I want to drink blood?

I don't think its saliva itself... there's a mineral... *banging my head on my computer* Gah, can't remember it... starts with a z or a g or something.

Wow I paid less attention in health then I thought @_@

Edit: I don't think it made blood clot faster though. Did I say that before? Maybe... man I'm confusing myself.

Hmmm...blood sausage for breakfast with potato scones, the breakfast of champions. Blood sausage is pretty common in Europe, or at least among the ethnic groups that I'm most familiar with. IOW, I can get it fairly easily here and often do. It's also very nutritious (no sense in wasting good food after all!).

Of course, this thread begs the question: Do vampire teenagers dress up like accountants and drink coffee when they want to shock their parents?
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

Back on topic...my guys bible study did a study on cults as well as that I did n my free time. Some of the stuff is extremely gross and perverted that some cults take part in (for instance, vampirism). True story is one cult I studied actually made me "lose my lunch" because of some of the stuff they did. It's not a pretty world however it makes me appreciate and take joy in the God we serve.
