I voted subs, because generally I prefer subs, but on only rare occasions I prefer dubs (FLCL, Cowboy Bebop) if the english voice actors are talented enough...but generally I think the american voice actors generally aren't as talented as the original Japanese ones, or they change some of the phrases around (i'm not saying they have to dub it word for word) and make it sound sort of less..realistic.

Almsot always subbed, unless I'm using the anime as background noise when I do something like clean or pack... Then I go dubbed. Also dubbed if I'm watching with non anime fans. I find subbed tends to turn people off more than dubbed.

As for Tenchi, I can't stand the Japanese voices... hahahah! That's really funny... And on DBZ, though I despise the show as a whole, I hate the heros in japanese, and I hate the villains in the dub. Oh, and I think the reason Goku sounds like a girl is because Saiyan's don't go through the same changes in Puberty... Their bodies are different than humans... Hence why his hair is always the same length... Gohan, on the other hand, is half human, so his hair grows. I feel icky for knowing that.

Image We won't hold it against you.

And my dub vs. subbed sentiments are the same as yours, even down to the Tenchi details. I also prefer Ranma 1/2, YUA!, Princess Nine, and Chrono Crusasde (no projectiles, please) in dub form. My dub list is rather short.

subtitles all the way, the only descent dubs i've actually heard are Samurai X - Truth & Betreyal and Reflection. The one for the kenshin motion picture was horrid (even though it was the same voice actors, though with the later ones they knew the chars better)

Well, that and many roles of male children are played by female voice actresses in Japan.

 Many roles of adult males are played by female seiyuu as well. Rune from Dragon Knights and Dilandau Albatou from Escaflowne come to mind.

It's been awhile since I watched, but didn't Faye originally think Ed was a boy too?

Uh, this may have been said already, but I'd like to clear this up: Son Goku from DBZ has a woman voice actor in the Japanese version. I just wanted to say this because a couple people have said he sounds like a girl; the voice actor is a girl.
Think happy thoughts.
