I HATE cell phones!

Talk about anything in here.

I HATE cell phones!

Postby Maledicte » Wed Dec 29, 2004 4:57 pm

cell phones are so very exquisitely annoying. I mean, when you're hanging out with someone, and it's just you and them, and you just start getiing into an interesting conversation, and then bam! their cell phone rings and then they just forget about you even though you're RIGHT THERE!!! Why talk to someone who's who-knows-where when you have a perfectly acceptable human being standing right in front of you? And most of the time they don't even explain what the call was about. How rude! this is even awkward when more than one person is around, because while you are trying to talk to someone else the person on the cell phone is broadcasting whatever it is they're talking about because the person on the other end has a bad connection. And don't even get me started on talking on cell phones while driving.
And yet, somehow, by most peculiar coincidence, I need a cell phone. :stressed: because the pay phone at school keeps stealing my money.

Ah Cell Phones are not my favorite thing in all the world. Like when I am in my class lecture during the lecture some class mate's cell phone would rings while I am trying to pay attention to the lecture that class mate were talking on the cell phone as if he or she is at home and also when I return from home on the bus I just want a peace and quiet yet someone's cell phone always rings and I have to hear some of their converation which some of it is too much information then I would like.

Wow, three posts at the same time... (referring to the first three replies)

Anywho, yeah, I'm not a fan of cell phones. Like, shooraijin, mine is normally off. Lately though, that's not by my choosing.... it's cause the thing is acting funny. The phone will only stay on for two minutes at the most, than cut off. Doesn't really bother me though, I only used the thing as a watch in the first place.

Btw, who else hates those goofy ring tones?

I've only started using one recently that the church provides. It has made things so much easier for members to be able to get in touch with me when I am on the road from point A to B. When I am visiting or at the hospital however I always keep it on vibrate and never let it interrupt conversations I am having with someone. Then I check as I am leaving to see who called and get back in touch with them.

Mine is always on vibrate or turned low. And my phone conversations with most people expect maybe my cousin and a couple friends are never more than five minutes long. I hate it too when you're talking to someone and their phone goes off then they don't tell you what they were talking about. That annoys me to no end.

I too have experienced how annoying cell phones can be. Specificly when around my cousin, whos girlfriend calls him everytime I'm over there.... :shady: or people who call my dad while we're in a theater or something. And so I made a comic once about these times. (note that he pays money just to get his weapon of choice, a newspaper.^_^)

Personaly I think they should be banned while your driving....and banned anywhere smoking is. So no indoor use. Sorry people, but while I am watching a movie your call is not important enough to interupt it. Yup Timmy fell in a well...thats horrible...please mourn quietly.

You know, in Japan they have cellphone jammers that kill your signal in certain places.

It's also illegal to talk on one and drive at the same time.

As a random note, teenage girls RULE the Japanese cellphone market. What the girls want, they get.

I enjoy having a cellphone, but people need to be reasonable. More irritating than in a theater is at church, and it always happens once. The one time I left mine on at church somone called me, thank goodness it was at a low level. Most of the time they aren't long calls though, and they are good for when you're getting directions or you're lost.

They're a blessing and a curse *feels poetic*

I use mine alot when I miss the bus and such, and it'll be really nice when I can drive. Not many people have my number so I don't get constant calls.

I turn my phone off for church. No one I know would be calling me then anyways.

I love my cellphone... My times at home would he unbearable if it weren't for free weekends and evenings... It is often my only form of communication. I love cool ringtones, having something to do when I'm bored, and being able to go anywhere while I talk to people... It's such a convenience. I would be very lost if it weren't for my cellphone, in many cases.

Okay, so I wrote this long rant earlier, hit the post button, and it decided to tell me that I wasn't signed on (which I was). So my nice small (not) rant was erased. So now I am going to do a short and condensed version.

1) I don't like people who talk on a cell phone with one had and drive with the other. Get a car with a built in cell phone (like my dad's volvo) or a headset. Free up the hands people!

2) Leaving cell phones on so they go off in the middle of class is bad. Not only do the people around you get annoyed, but the teachers do as well. Not a good thing.

3) If you are in the movies, turn the blasted thing off! or at least to silent. There are about 10 little ads that pop up on the screen asking you to be considerate of others and turn off the phones. Yeish, if it is that important, don't go to movies! rent them!

4) If you are talking with a friend and the cell phone rings, look who it is but don't answer it. If it is important they'll leave a message. If it is really important, chances is they will call you again right away. If that happens, excuse yourself and answer it, then at least tell your friend something about the conversation when you are done so they don't feel like a complete idiot only hearing one side of the conversation.

5) Ringtones can be fun. I personally like ringtones that are music from games or movies that I really like. Other than that, I really don't care for them.

There's my feelings. Oh, a little note. Don't drop your cell phone into herbal tea. My dad found that out today. His phone shorted, but luckily came on a couple hours later, after drying on the defroster for 30 minutes and charging for another hour and a half. Sadly, he lost his entire contact list. That stinks for me because I am going to be the one going through his client files finding all the numbers again. :?: Oh Joy.

I like cell phones. . . when the person I'm calling chooses to answer it, atleast.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Awww...yeah. Cellphones are annoying in that way. But I have one that that's really expensive and it has a camera and stuff...^^; But too bad I never use it that much. I should since it was expensive, but I don't. And whenever my friends talk on their cellphones while I'm there, I feel left out and I wanna know what they were talking about....but that's rude...so it's....@.@;;; Poor poor you...^^;;;
