Postby VashTheStampede » Mon Dec 27, 2004 1:55 am

Hey, winter is upon us all, some more than others, lol. Just wondering what are some of you guy's favorite places to go or be during the winter and things you like to do? I personally wouldn't mind just shoveling the driveway during a nice peaceful snowfall. That and I love being at ski/snowboard resorts doin what I do best during the winter, lol, snowboarding!

To fully enjoy winter you must get a big sled. get on that sled and go down a big long hill and push other people off their sleds while staying on your own.

I do the same things in winter I do all year round - running and hiking. My brother has a snowboard, but he likely won't let me use it without some kind of odd compromise.

Him: Don't tell dad I bought this anime with his credit card and you can use my snowboard.
Me: Uhmmm...

Not so childish. They did, after all, make it an Olympic event. (They call it Skeleton.)

I like being at my aunt's home in IN, because she has this really steep, tall sledding hill.

Activity? I don't know. So far, skiing, but that is pending my trial of snowboarding.

Taking a walk at midnight as the snow falls slowly. I love when all the sky is lite up and everything is surreal.

Snowboarding! We went to Stratton in Vermont last week and it was so great to snowboard again. *__* But now that we're back in Ohio the "mountain" we go to for ski club is going to be so boring.

Oooo, another place I would really like to go during the winter, Mammoth Mountain in California! Lol, I heard it was awesome for snowboarding. But yea, seeing as how I'm here in Minnesota, it's kinda pricey for a poor guy like me to get a plane ticket all the way over there, lol, but someday....

Everything! Tubing, skiing (crosscountry and downhill), snowshoeing, snowball fights, trying to walk on the crust of the snow without falling through, sledding, sledding with a motor, tying a plastic sled behind a snowmobile and trying to dump people off of it (the best and most dangerous activity), flopping down in the powder to sit and watch the sky, skating, digging tunnels in snowbanks, driving with my bro at night when it's snowing really hard and he pretends the car has gone into warp speed ... i think i'll end the list here for the sake of preserving a modicum of sanity.
