What place is that?

OMG! I just watched about 5 episodes O Fruits Basket. I LOVE THAT SHOW! Ayame, as cute a he is, is the only real bad part about this show. Over all I think Toru teaches compassion and heart and, I want to be like Toru!

But this show is sooooooooo KAWAII!!!!! :thumb:

Here, try using the spoiler tags.
just type in [ and then spoiler="whatever you want to appear on the button" then a ]. Then you type the spoiler, and then put a [ and a /spoiler] at the end.
K? With as many Fruits Baskets fans as we have, it may not be such a bad idea to have a spoiler-ridden thread about it, so we can all talk about it without accidentally ruining it for someone else.

Humm... well I have a tiny feeling that is not Akito's problem. Personally I hate the guy. :mutter: He has basically been mean to every major character in the series.

Oh yeah!!! I am trying to decide if I want to buy each as it comes out or if I want to wait and buy them later. I have a feeling I won't be able to resist it though. I want to scan them in and use for making graphics for my site. :)

I'm looking forward to the English manga release as well. I'm not sure, though, whether I will buy the manga or not because I own most of the anime already. Is the manga much different than the anime? Is it worth owning both?

I just finish watching the whole anime series, i'm going to read the manga now!! :thumb: Great series, but I don't like the end of it ( I think the author could had done better), but my friend told me that the manga is better and they show alot more sohma characters (more crazy people  )
My fave characters are
1. Kyou Sohma
2. Hatsuhara Sohma
3. Momiji Sohma (my zodiac)
4. Ayame Sohma (his so crazy gotta love him  )
5. Hiro Sohma (talks way to much, I like him better when his quite he looks so kawaii :red: )
6. Hari-sama Sohma ( I think his the only normal character in the whole series)
7. Shigure Sohma (He writes to much <some of the things he writes aren't that good>, his cute gotta love him and the way he keeps singing "High school girls" over and over is cute  )
I guess those are my fave characters from Fruits Baskets

Yay! The second Manga volume comes out in April! But... I don't want to wait that long!!!! :waah!: :waah!: :waah!:

And for those of you who are wondering before scanlations were taken down I saw up to almost volume 5 and it pretty much follows the same plot. There are 2 more characters of the zodiac though. :thumb: Does anyone know which two? (one's a boy and one's a girl)

If you really wish that, just pick up the manga. It continues far past the end of the anime.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I found out an interesting little tidbit about fruits basket today, and I thought I'd share.

The title comes from a Japanese children's game similar to musical chairs. Take a group of, say, ten people sitting in a circle of nine chairs, with one person in the middle. The person in the middle will assign a fruit -- apple, orange or banana -- to each person. If the person in the middle then shouts "Banana!" all the people who are bananas have to get up and take another seat, with the slowest person being stuck in the middle. Yell "Fruits Basket" and everyone has to jump up and take a new seat.

Hey, that's cool. I knew it was based on a children's game, but I could never figure out how the game was played simply by reading the manga. Thanks for the info, Termyt.

As much as i love FuruBa I kinda hope they don't. They really changer the anime from the manga, for one thing they never had there teacher Mayuko, who is importante in the manga. they made up this whole Dieing thing for Akito. And they left out the sohma's bigest secret, and theres no way they could put it in if they did make more episodes. So i kinda hope they don't.

Ten Little Suggestions to Make Fruits Basket a Better Anime

1. Tohru should be louder, meaner, angrier, and have access to a time machine.
2. Have Dave Chappelle play as any one male Sohma (excpet Haru). My suggestion would be Ayame or Ritsu. That would lessen the girly streak of the Sohma males, or contribute to it in a way that only Chappelle could.
3. Uh.... replace that electric girl with Salma Hayek. Prrrrrr.
4. Have Michael Jackson play as Haru. Why? Who else can change from black to white? Though, MJ can't change from white to black (we hope he could, though). Of course, the new white Haru would be a lot creepier than the original white Haru.
5. Tohru should have a loud, creepy German father who torments her from time to time. Yes, that would involve tweaking some story elements (namely, changing the mother's appearance), but I think we can manage.
6. XD Yuki should be a [serious ladies' man]....
6a.... especially if played by Dave Chappelle
7. Hatori should have more of a personality.
7a. If Dave Chappelle plays as Hatori, this wouldn't be a problem.
8.
Something has to be done about Kyou's "true form." It doesn't look anything remotely like a cat, but like some wierd alien bunny mixed with the villain in Men In Black. Perhaps that can be replaced with Baxter of Meow Mix fame.
8a. Of course, that means Kyou will have to sing the Meow Mix tune.
8b. If Dave Chappelle is Kyou, then his monster form should be Dave Chappelle as Samuel L. Jackson advertising "Sam Jackson" beer. ("Yes they deserve to die, and I hope they burn in hell!")
9. On second thought, replace Shigure and Hatori with the two shirtless Korean boys from the chin2.mpeg video.
9a. That would obviously mean they'd have to do the Jung-hwa Ban Jum dance.
10. There should be at least one Filipino character in Furuba. No, this isn't because of Affirmative Action or any politically correct mumbo jumbo. A Filipino would add a lot of humor and eating to the series.
10a. A Filipino character would mean that Kagura would have to be killed and served in a fiesta in her boar form.

Except for the part about Tori-san needing more peronsality. . .
