Catch Phrases or quirky online habits?

Postby Hitokiri » Sun Dec 26, 2004 5:55 am

Does anyone have a ctah phrase they say (online or offline) or a quirky smiley or just something they alot when talking or posting.

My friends and I rip off quotes we like in anime and use them (oro from kenshin, SCARY!!! from trigun, it's so luch and vibrant from RahXephon, Irrelevent from Evangelion) ya get the idea. I also tend to say "lack of it, anyway" whenever someone says something.

Online habits....I do alot of these ^_^ -_- -_-; -_^ 0_o ^_~

I only do "lol" when I am actually laughing but I usually put "hee hee"
I also do "fu fu fu" which is another laugh thing I do. Now one gets it.

I find myself replying to almost everything with a "lol" when it might not be deserving of a hardy laugh.

I also use -_- a lot.

"xD" "=O" and "<3" have become staples of any conversation over the internet for me. :grin: I also use a lot of Ragnarok Online emoticon commands (/lv, /gg, /ok, /rice, etc.). ^.^; It's difficult to refrain from using them - I love them, but I don't want to confuse people. o.o;

<<I also do "fu fu fu" which is another laugh thing I do. No one gets it.>>
Aw, I understand. That's an evil laugh, similar to Naraku's famous manga laugh: "Ku ku ku..."

As for me, I find that I talk differently on the Internet then in real life; sentance construction, word choice, ect. I use all kinds of smilies, this being one of my favorites, =3 with the little cat mouth. ^^
I also use that last one a lot, because I feel it's difficult to transmit feelings over the internet.

I find that when I post I tend to be less concerned about my spelling than I'm generally am and as a result a lot of my posts have misspellings in them.On the other hand don't most of us have the same thing?

I use ^_^ and O_o a lot.

and I say pustahw? A lot in emails. (if you read it backwards it says whatsup.) And I always make up random things and say them for quite a while. I got lot's of people saying Gir sayings. Like "wait don't go! I need stuff!" Oh and in almost all my emails to girls I use milady.

Same here. Except for =_=. I don't use that one much. And I use two underscores for the mouth usually, unless it's for -_-.

I like using the CAA-provided smilies as well. ^__^

I tend to use symbols, rather than phrases and admittedly picked up such habits from CAA members such as Chloe, Elric-kun and Sunako.

Just to name a few....

Hmmm well, I say "to the max" a lot, and i ::air guitar:: a lot, and I talk about Pop Tarts and bacon a WHOLE lot. (All of these pertain to on and offline conversations)

I use elipses (the 3 dots) a lot online
I mumble in Japanese a lot offline

If I left anything out then i'll let the people who talk to me fill it in for me

Um, I use the ";)" thing alot. I'm also characterized by user use of the "---". For a while, my custom user title was "The Queen of the Dash", but I don't think anyone understood it but me.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I have a lot of weird online habits. I love emoticons and I use them all the time, including but not limited to:

O_o >_< >w< >_o >_> <_< -_- =_= ._. ^_^ ^-^ @_@ x_x
^_^/) <-- waving! krescentmoon taught me that
~('-' ~) (~ '-')~ <-- Elric_kun taught me that
( _ _) <-- sleeping or depressed
X3 XO XP >D :] :3 :\ : o :D

my favorite emoticon of all time: XD

aaand my second favorite: the zoom. ((((((((((((((((( '-')

lately I've been using "kekeke" and "fufufu" as laughs XD and I'm starting to pick up "rad" from aku_soku_zan. I say "kya" a lot and use ~ after sentences and words all the time. X3 put them together and it's "kya~"-- happy exclamation. I also say "nya". which I use in the place of "meh". another laugh is "kyahahaha" XD and I use lol and rofl a lot.

...>_>;; I'm done.

I only use "lol" if something really made me laugh or at least gave me a light chuckle.;) I also use the winking ;) and tongue one :P a ton too. Besides that I use normal English and don't really use any other symbols.

I sometimes use emoticons when I'm writing literature or e-mails to people who wont understand them. There, did it again. Imagine writing "And Porter smiled a strange sadistic smile :-)" and going 'D`oh!' at your own incompetance.

Also a dear on-line friend of mine always finishes his post with "So it goes", a phrase from a Kurt Vonnegut novel, Slaughterhouse Five, I think.
