GIMP Tutorial?

Gang,

I'm really interested in practicing whatever art skills, or a facsimilie thereof, I have. However, this is my first time ever using GIMP. Is there a tutorial of some sort that helps you learn all the ins and outs of the program, how to do this and that kind of art, etc?

And if I need it, which I probably will, is there anyone here that can give me advice?

I can try to answer questions if you have specifics....

There are several online resources for GIMP, I am missing all my old bookmarks however, so it'll take some research to find the pages.

There are a couple of GIMP groups over at Yahoo Groups that I've found helpful in the past.

The other thing to do is to look at PSP and Photoshop tutorials for things, in most cases you can do the same thing or something similar in GIMP.
