the "how I found this website" thread

Postby supa dupa ninja » Sat Sep 06, 2003 1:21 am

I found out about this website when I was googling "christian anime reviews". I was looking for a quick laugh then ( I used to consider the biased-ness of some of our fellow christians funny) then "I've seen the light, and it BURNS!!" there are also somethings that shocked me during my search. why would anyone burn so much anime dvds? why would anyone burn pikachu on a steak?
opinions please....

Hmm...Was it Matt? That's my guess.

Well, I found the CAA from Ashley's brother. Long time ago, back on the MSN forums. Not sure why I joined, I wasn't really into anime, since the most I had seen was Gundam Wing. Guess cause I knew two of the people there and the community was nice?

My friend gave me a bunch of NGE episodes, and so I wanted to see what Christians thought of it, and Googled for Christian Anime or something like it and found Ashley's site. Then I signed up and she emailed me and told me the MSN place was where it was all at. Then, I got this email that said they moved from MSN to this...

I found it from google of course. I was doing a report at the time and one of the search terms I used had the clix.to website in its results.

God.
No, seriously folks. For you noobs, I'm the one that started this place.

A quick CAA history:
- geocities (canimealliance, for you really old guys)
- clix.to/caa (my own server with a redirect)
- groups.msn (this was techincally simultaneous with the clix.to, but it became the real heart of the ministry)
and now here! Voila!

We've had 14 layouts, 4 servers, and until we moved here, 98 members.

Like basically everyone else, Google. Wonderous device, isn't it?

I happened to be at the library, looking up "christian manga" just to see what people were drawing. Out of boredom (I was waiting for some people) I randomly typed in "christian anime." Thank God.

SVD997 sent me here to read his fanfic and I fell in love with this site...

Hmm...I think I found this place through google...

In refference to one of the other questions brought up in that first post, the people that burned all those anime dvd's and had roast pikachu are the same group of people who banned mario because he flew (but not because he shot fireballs... interesting, ne?), and who freaked out at smurfs saying that they represented dead spirits... Even though I watch shows that openly have "ghosts" in them now... Anyhow, people are always out to say something is a tool of satan, particularly when children are involved, most of the time it's to put blame on SOMETHING for the fact that their kids are brats because they just weren't being good parents...

>looks around<

But I'm NOT bitter!

Whoa! That WAS old...when I first joined CAA (I was searching for Christian manga, as memory serves) it was at clix.to/caa and it was a Ronin Warrior layout. I didn't know there was a geocities site.

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.
