CAA Chat2: Version 0.1 beta

OK. For reasons that can only be considered masochistic, I'm working on a new (read simple but free) chat for CAA. Let me know what you think. Remember, I don't intend to add any features to this. It's just here until I find a better one.

If you have a mac, read the disclaimer. If you have any OTHER problems, PM/email me. If you want features, whah. This is only live now because you guys were whining about it. That being said, knock yourself out.

Edit: Oh yeah, if you find a massive security bug, email/pm me, OK? Let's not have everyone on the internet seeing every security hole we've got...
Edit2: OK. I think the spaces issue is resolved. Everyone try again, ok? lol

Working nicely, And i like how the CAA username database is integrated into it.

Only feature request i have is that:
*usernames are put in BOLD
or
*usernames are put in COLOR

I can't log in. I type in Godly Paladin and my password, but it says that I'm wrong...

The name field is case sensitive too. Maybe that's the problem?

For some as yet unknown reason, I can't seem to get in. I suspect that it might have to do with the space in my username.

I tried lowercase, with and without spaces, using underscores, and any combination of capitals I could think of.

Sorry I can't give you any feedback on the chat. I'm sure I'll be happy with it, as I'm a pretty easy going person. Thanks for the effort.

i as well, am having difficulties. At first i thought it was becasue my username contained spaces and a period. But i doubt it

Hmm, it might actually be the spaces. Oldphil, Volt and I can get in, but Saint Kevin, blue whisper and Mr. Smartypants can't...

That means that someone on this screen has an "angle sanctum" link in their sig. I'm tracking it down now...

ug..so that's how this mess got Started.. :lol:

AngelSanctum's my place,
I forgot to take off my "CHAT NOW" link... that was a temporary chat set up, from my server. the [img] codes and everything are 1 after the other so unless you're me, or willing to play around, you wouldn't know which one it is... and that's why entire sig got clipped (lol wouldn't blame 'em)

my bad. BTW oldphil can you PM me back my sig so i take that out? And put the rest of the sig back up and running.

If you want the chat area to be interesting, you'll have to actually STAY there for a few minutes. It seems that people are showing up, looking for 5 seconds, then signing out. The odds that more that one person will do this at once are small, and therefore.... *SHOCK!* *GASP!* Most people don't see anyone in there.

Speaking of people not hanging around, there's volt in there right now.

*goes off to find the "kick" button, again*

No. There is a limit to the length of characters that the programmer hard coded into the applet. I don't really feel like re-writing his applet, so it stands as it is.

And please stop asking for this feature. I've told you no in Private Chat, and in the main chat forum. Asking here only makes you look like a whiner.

And I'm locking this thread, as this is not the most recent one anymore.
