Love Hina is basically a fan service anime. So if it doesn't bother you, I suggest it. I personally really liked it but that's just me. But I found the manga ALOT better. The manga's ending was beautiful amd elequent while the ending of the anime had much to desire for. However, the manga has more fans ervice than the anime.

But like I said, Love Hina has alot of fan service. The main character accicently seeing the girls naked in the hot springs bath, clevagae, accidental upskirts, etc. I found myself ignoring the fan service and occassionally I'd skip it.

What intrigued me actually was the story (someone told me, don't tell me it's the story that makes you attract to Love Hina). But it is. I love Romance Comedies. That's why I love Tenchi Muyo. Something just drew my attention in Love Hina that made me want to read the next book to find out what happens next that didn't happen before in any other manga.

So my words of wisdom, tread veeerrry carefully before watching this anime if fan service affects you. If it does, I suggest not watching it or reading it.

For a newbie to anime, I suggest Rurouni Kenshin, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha, or Gundam Wing.

Love Hina is one of the best "harem" anime around.

Harem anime center on a main male character who is usually a tad geeky who, through strange circumstance finds himself surrounded by no small number of beautiful girls who all fall madly in love with him. Wacky romance, outrageous misunderstandings, and general chaos then ensue.

If you're curious about titles, GlitterStar, it might help if we knew a little more about you. Like, how old you are, what genres of books/movies you like outside of anime and such. Tha t would make it a lot easier to suggest anime. ;)

There are a lot of better titles out there (even romance titles) for new anime fans. If you're looking for romance, however, you'll have to mow through a buch of hentai.

(Just in case you don't know, here's a definition from CAAs FAQ: Hentai - means "pervert"; basically any sexually descriptive fanfic, website, etc.)

Hi, I've read Love Hina(in Italy there is the manga from one year, but the anime is coming in these days...) until n°7, and I think that is not bad, I really like the character design of Motoko, she's nice.
However there is a scene that I doesn't like, maybe cause I didn't give a good interpretation(sometimes from the manga is more difficult to understand the dynamics of a scene then watching an anime), or maybe if I give the correct interpretation, the scene is quite bad in my opinion
Koalla kiss Motoko, and then Koalla is happy that she've doing it, and Motoko is scared because it was her first kiss, but gosh, do you think is naturally and normal that a girl kiss a girl?!
I'm currently in the middle of Nadia, and it's a pretty good series, so I'll leave that as my reccomendation for now. Cowboy Bebop is another good title. But, then again, I don't really know your interests so it does make it hard to reccomend anything.

Just a warning on Nadia, there's a lot of bad religion towards the end.

Yes, maybe Nadia have something wrong about religion in the end, but is only a story, you watch, you enjoy the story, and then you forget the wrong thing isn't it?

But what about my question for love hina?

CDLviking is right - Nadia does have some disturbing religious elements at the end. I'm actually in the middle of writing up a review for it, if anyone is curious.

Yes, all anime is just stories, but we watch each other's backs around here and point out things that might be seen as offensive. It's one thing to know what to expect when you start watching an anime, and it's another to get an unpleasant surprise.

But what about my question for love hina?

I don't think I read your question about Love Hina. Could you repeat it, please?

Noheajack, you were wondering bout Su and Motoko and kissing correct?

It's the fact that Su doesn't quite understand "public" decency nor right from wrong cause she's a kid (13 years old). She acts much like Ed from Cowboy Bebop.

So when I read that, it didn't bother me cause I view Koallu Su as a innocent girl that doesn't understand somethings quite yet.

Speaking of reviews...
Someone really should type up a review for the Love Hina anime, considering the amount of times it comes up.

I would have if I had actually seen the anime, but...

things that might be seen as offensive

In italy the anime of nadia was called "Il mistero della pietra azzurra"(the mistery of the blue stone) and was transmitted in tv(sorry for my english, is correct to say"transmit in tv"?) about 10 years ago, but most of episodes were censored(sometimes also for stupid causes I've read in a site!)
Last year this anime was put in dvd and released to italy without censure, so I don't know if is offensive to our religion, but if as you say it's offensive, I won't like, cause I hate anybody who overdare to our religion.

About Love Hina, I don't think that a 13 years girl is too young, cause also one of my girl was 13 when I was 19, but maybe in the case of Koalla she's so thickhead that she can't understand what mean to kiss someone...

That's so odd. I remember renting some OLD VHSs of Nadia (dubbed and translated by some old company that had it before ADV). I'm looking forward to see this review, because it doesn't seem to be the type of series with bad religion in it. Looked pretty light-hearted, but of course this was only after seeing about... 8 eps I think it might've been.

another question about love hina: does anybody know if there are many difference from manga to anime, or they're quite same?

And about Nadia, why don't we open another topic?

Love Hina's manga has more fan service than the anime. I also find it more funny and the ending of the manga blows the anime out of the water.

However, the anime makes some parts better than they were in th emanga. For instance the Christmas special is just great...I absolutely love it.

So it's kinda biased cause I like th emanga sooo much better.

Well after years of people telling me I should give Love Hina a chance.... after coming to CAA and seeing it was respected among even some christian's I decided to give it a chance.

Personally I just usually HATE the anime type were one guy is covered by girls who fall madly in love with him.

WELL I have watched episode 24. (I have the perfect collection, if I'll get to the movies and episode 25 will either be today or next week).

My Opinion of the anime is this....
I have fallen Madly in love with this anime.
This anime didn't turn out anything like I expected it to. I expected are main character would be some truly perverted jerk that for some miracle all the girls fell in love with him.
..... But as it turns out he happens to be one of my favorite characters!
The characters themselves anyways, I think I fell in love with each and everyone of them.

I'm glad you like it Street! That's the thing, most guys in the harem anime are only accused of being perverts, they actually aren't.

Well, the manga started running out of steam about volume 9 or so. I think Akamatsu introduced Kanako to jumpstart the series. Volume 12 was the last one with a good story (except for the epilogue in volume 14) I think.

Personally I liked the manga arc where we meet Motoko's older sister.
