Well back from Neko Con on Monday but I had alot to catch up on and attend before putting things in words.
The main part of the Con was held in Chesapeake Conference Center and the other part in the Chesapeake Holiday Inn next door. This ment that the GSS people had to be spread between the two buildings and different shifts for 24 hours operations. I had the 10:30 AM to 4 PM shift in the hotel which ment I missed some programs I wanted to see but ended up treating for skinned knees and hands from people falling on the pavement between the buildings and a few other minor problems that required a bandaid and a pat on the head and tell them to go have more fun.
I missed one incident which required a ambulance transport but on Saturday I ended being called during shift change to the Conference Center by another GSS member for a problem at the dealers room. A young woman had passed out while shopping. I got there and checked her out after the paperwork for permission to touch a person was done. I did not like the way the patient was looking and their vitals were not looking right so I requested a ambulance.
The woman was taken to the hospital and later while at the Saturday Night Dance came up to me and thank me for helping her. I also ended up with a young man passing out during the dance from not eating since that morning and had a sore throat. Check him out and advised that eating is important during these shows.
Sunday I had a Con Staffer who was feeling sick and no energy. Advise was to go lay down for awhile and get something for the stomach. He later ended up at his Grandmother's because he was from out of state and would have ended up on a bus going back home.
Everything finally slowed down, attendees went home or out for the night and the staff of the Con started breaking down the Con and get ready for the After Con Dinner at a Mexican restaurant. Monday the main staffers were still breaking down what was left and what guest that stayed for the dinner went home and so did I after a stop to get my pictures done at a 1 hour place, eat and shop at a nearby mall. The leader of the GSS said I did one heck of a job during the weekend and I plan to be back again as I have been since 5 years ago for my first Neko Con where I was asked to help because there was no medical people there to watch over the attendees .
