LOL, Gainax has been failing for so long with ONLY Evangelion as a hit success. And since Eva was a "crazy" anime, they figured another one was in store.

Again a short black haired boy with an unhealthy dose of teen angst.

3 potential romance interests.

Big robots.

Weird things.

Sexual references.

Megumi Hayashibara as main seiyuu (Haruko).

And other parallels to Eva.

Too bad it became TOO weird for it to gain a big following. Oh well. XD

Well, since you guys were talking about new shows and the like...well, I wasn't going to tell ya just yet, but we're working on a service that will announce new shows coming up, and perhaps have some tentative plot summaries and the like. It'd be like that column they have in Animerica, only more reliable, and of course, through Christian eyes!

I just watched FLCL for the first time today. I had no idea what was going on, but I was thinking it was because I jumped in in the middle of the series. Maybe not... :sweat:

But actually, I like really bizarre humor and weird, offbeat themes. I plan to check out the rest of the series just to see what it's like. I was surprised at how suggestive FLCL was, though. I guess I wasn't expecting that. But like some others who have posted, it really doesn't bother me that much. I guess I'll just sit back and enjoy the weirdness...

Well you can find a lot of their videos on kazaa, just search the word Chick'n Swell. It's 3 guys who pretty much do sutpid stuff with little little budget :cool:

There's one where they don't talk a lot, the title is "Bungee" and also "Le monstre du Chalet"

I saw ep. 5&6. There is a bunch of funky stuff happening at lightning speed. Whats up with the big eyebrow guy turning into a south Park dude? To wierd for me and that says a lot :dizzy:

Well It seems like alot of people don't like it but I have to see an anime for myself to make a choice that I'm gonna watch it or not, unless everyone says it's almost like watching Hentai then I'll not even watch it. But I saw an episode on CN the other day. I fell in love with it I though it was one of the best animes I've seen in awhile so I'm definiatly picking me up the DVD's. I really didn't see the sexual references shocking or gross or fanservicey I saw it more as goofy. Not so more than say Tenchi or Megatokyo. But if you don't like it or feel convicted don't watch it. Epecially if it's gonna make you sin.

At the outset, I thought, "hey, I like this, it's cool!" but subsequent to seeing the entire series, my notion reflected into, "this is nasty". It's good, but a smidgen vulgar. Nevertheless, I comparatively benefited from the weirdness. Lol. (Also, I heard Cartoon Network began to launch it.)

Anyone know why Naota's dad was referred to as writing "Eba" or Eva, or is that just some joke? I'd like to know if the Eva dude was involved in this anime in any way.

Naota's dad was refering to "Neon Genesis Evangelion" (a popular and controversal anime).
