I cant stop crying. I saw a thing on Sept. 11 and I can not stop crying. now ever time it crosses my mind I begin to cry. I am completly foul of anger, and sadness right now. I just want to scream!

That's a good sign. It means you're not desensitized and calloused.

I believe this kind of thing breaks the heart of God, as well. But ultimately, the world, the future, and the destiny of all mankind is in His hands. He will dispense justice... and mercy. He loves us all... I hope that is a comfort.

seconded. if you have an upwelling of anger or hateful feeling, and you are afraid that it may cause you problems (i.e., you lose control and hurt someone emotionally or physically), work it off. play a violent video game. run around the block 30 times. do push-ups until you can't do any more. and then pray about it and see if you can work it out.

9/11...that was so terrible. Sometimes I wonder what's wrong with me...because I don't get so emotional about it. I still think it was terrible though. All I can say is those people...I got to stop, it's getting me down...that's why you got to be ready...

I for one think it's good that you're getting your emotions out. Crying is healthy, especially when the alternative is letting it well up inside of you to the point that you can't express yourself in a healthy way.

Plus it shows your level of compassion and sensitivity, neither of those is a bad thing. My parents and friends beat the kindness out of me by calling me a "crybaby" and a weakling" all throughout my youth...now I find it difficult to care about anything and express myself sufficiently. I just retreated into nihilistic silence. That's not good.

I'm quite sure that the families and friends of 9/11 victims would deeply appreciate your heartfelt sorrow, even if everyone else admonished you to "get over it". It's easy for someone to say that when they won't be carrying lifelong scars from it.
Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.

I thyink for everyone who witnessed 9/11, it will forever be engraved in thier minds. Sparten, it's natural to feel those feelings. My motto is "Emotion is just words" and rarely do I show emotion but 9/11 is one of those times where I feel sad yet I feel we had victory over terror and fear. We rose to the occassion.

But be strong. I hate to say it but the world won't be sugar coated that much longer. More wars will break out and more terroists actions will continue to occur much like the horrific trajedy in Russia involving the Chechna Terroists killing over 300+ kids and teachers. But w emust not sit in a corner an feel sorry for ourselves but w emust yet again rise to the occassion.

But I think 9/11 should be one of the few times when we as Americans should just let the tears flow and forget th epains of this world and remember our dear loved ones who were lost in the rubble and fire tenderly and honor them. I don't think they want us to sit idly on our hands while the world is still a scary place to be.

The terrorists attacks of Sept.11 were terrible acts of cruelty and destruction, and you are right to grieve over them.

After Sept.11, we did have a time of grieving; however, we also acted to bring swift and powerful justice to those that attacked america. As a country, we did not let grief control our lives, for a number of reasons. Some of these reasons are that life is still worth living, that we can find some solace in seeing justice done, and--for Christians--that the sorrows of this life are not the end of the story.

The bottom line is this: you can give in to grief and fatalism, allowing your life to be consumed by dwelling upon the tragedies of the past. On the other hand, you could have your time of grieving, then get on with your life. Of course that does not mean that you forget what happened, but it does mean that you go on with your life.

We all have things in our lives that make us want to lay down and die. One of the challenges of life is overcoming these tragic events in order to go on living.

Very well said Hitokiri.

I remember how angry I felt on 9/11. That day will always stay with me...as I'm sure it will with every American. The thought that I wanted to see every terrorist dead was on my mind contantly after that. But I realized that we Americans needed to be strong in the face of evil and overcome it. We've made alot of progress no matter what some people will say, 3/4 of Al Qaeda's structure is destroyed, their assets frozen, most of their leaders dead or in custody, justice is being served. They're scattered and desperate now, but that makes them even more dangerous so the most important thing we can do is just pray. I don't think it will be long though before bin Laden is brought to justice in this life and the next for those he's killed.

I guess I don't know how to handle this very well... I'm jsut not the type of person who will stew over something. It doesn't take away in any way how I feel for the families who lsot loved ones in 9/11, but I just don't sit around and cry. It's just not what I do. I hit soda cans with a golf club, I play Halo at my friend's house, I hit pears across the yard with a tennis racket.

Me and my friends are going up into some woods today to honor the vistims of 9/11 and then playing paintball. US force against Terroists.

seriously, I can't believe it was 3 years ago today. Really wierd.

I think this song which I'm listenign to right now is the song for the occassion.

"You Are my Hope" ~ Skilet
Times are hard
Times have changed
Don't you say
But I keep holding on to you
It's hard to keep the faith alive day to day
Leaning on the strength I've found in you
You're the hope of all the Earth

You are my hope
You are my strength
You're everything
Everything I need
You are my hope
You are my life
You are my hope
You are my hope

Far beyond what I can see or comprehend
Etching your eternity in me
Nations stream and angels sing, "Jesus reigns"
And every knee bows down
You're the hope of all the Earth

You are my hope
You are my strength
You're everything
Everything I need
You are my hope
You are my life
You are my hope
You are my hope

Carry on and I sing of how
You love and I love you now
All the times that I start to sink
You come and you rescue me
You are my hope
You are my hope

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!

What are you going to do if the US team loses? Anyway, it sounds like fun. :thumb:

Today is the first home game for my college's football team, although I don't know if they are going to tie in any kind of 9/11 tribute with it. It would seem appropriate, but I don't know what will happen.

*Pats Sparten on the back*

Hey, you know things can be tough sometimes.
The question you have to ask your self now is, “What can I do about it?â€
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

There's no reason not to be upset. It's the greatest tragedy America has faced. So many innocent people died that day. But you never know how many of them are in heaven right now. God can use bad things for good. He could've used that situation to reveal Himself to many of the unbelievers in the two buildings at the last second before they died. And he could use this to reveal Himself to alot of the people who witnessed it. Obviously it was never God's plan for those peole to die like that. But we can trust that He'll use this for good. Pray that God will comfort you and others that are going through the pain of this. He can and will use it for good, if you have faith in Him. ;)

Yes it does. Because it lets all your anger out on things that aren't real. (please don't take as rude comment. I am trying to say just a different opinion.. X o X )

(How old is this thread?? hmm..)

I suggest Soul Calibur 2, also to let your anger out.

I just read the first page, so I'm sorry if I'm repeating anyone.

1. Remembering Sept. 11 doesn't make me cry. But that is due to the fact that no one I personally know was harmed. That said, just because I didn't and don't cry, it doesn't mean I didn't or don't feel for those who lost someone. Different things affect different people in different ways, so don't be ashamed or anything about your crying. Anger is ok, there's nothing wrong with being angry. What's "wrong" is letting that get the better of you.

2. In truth, America was no "safer" before the attack than it was after. We just got complacent and accoustomed to the fact that it doesn't happen much here. We didn't think that it would happen to us. Kinda like how you're aware that you could be in an accident when you're in a car, but you still never really think about it until (God forbid) you're in one. That's how I was when my family was in a wreck (thankfully, no one was hurt). And much like how America panicked, I did too. I was scared to ride in a car for a while, and would jump alot in my seat at the littlest things (I sit in the front). There are occasional buildings blown up, but those are few and far between. Violence on that scale is not an everyday occurance here like it is for people in other countries.

3. As a believer in Christ, you're a child of God. And as such, you know that nothing in this world has happened, happens, or will happen that does not fit into His plan. There's a reason for everything, ne? ^_^ You also know that He will always *always* be with you and will never give you more to bear than you are capable of. He is looking out for you and sends His angels to guard you, so don't be afraid! Take courage in that. :) The loss of lives on that day saddend God as well, as someone mentioned I think. But those who knew Him and were right with Him will be fine.

Pray. Just spill it all out to God, you'll feel better. Then invest in a sturdy teddy bear to hold (trust me, if you don't have someone to hug you, hugging something's almost as good)and a couple of good cushions to pummel! :) And lastly, find someone near you that you can talk with. A family member, a teacher, pastor/priest/Sabbath school teacher, youth director, school councillor...someone who you trust and feel comfortable enough to cry in front of should you need to. DON'T let those feelings of anger and sadness build up.

Eeep... I hate to sound all 'over-protective mother'-ish, but if you play a game please don't play Halo. I don't think anyone should play that game, especially when they're angry. Its just too... graphic.

Like Asterlon said, prayer is what Spartan probably needs most right now. Though I can't deny that a good game of Super Smash Brothers with a couple of best friends would probably do some good too. ^^ I will pray, tho. :3

The muslim extremists are doing what they think is pleasing to God--they don't know that they're doing wrong. That's what makes it really sad. They think that the people who attacked the World Trade Center are going to heaven.

It's over now...and I'm sure that the people who died wouldn't want us to keep grieving, but then again, I lost nobody to the attack.

 This one is sorry that you're sad...
