Annoyed

Postby Warrior 4 Jesus » Wed Nov 03, 2004 12:13 am

Hi all,

I love CAA and all but sometimes I get quite annoyed when interesting and more relevant or informative threads go to the bottom of the heap unanswered while silly pointless threads like, "Ishuya needs a haircut" (or something) is raised to the top and many people answer them.
I realise there are many people on these forums with varied interests, skills and expertise but surely in a forum of 2,000+ there would be more good responses.

I'm not bashing CAA, but I wish some people would just think before they make a pointless post.

Thankyou. :thumb:

True, there are a lot of threads I don't find particularily interesting or worth posting on, but such is the nature of a forum with such a diverse age group. Everyone's here to have fun and for some of them, it is talking about Inuyasha's hair cut. ...They really had a thread about that?

But it sounds like you know that already.
Be patient for the good threads. :thumb:

I agree totally. So many good threads have tanked while comparitively stupid threads are at the top of the pile. (Sometimes Goof Off is just embarrassing.)

That's why you do not post serious threads in Goof Off. Also, some threads may be silly to you, but in other people's opinion, they could be 'more relavent or informative' as you put it.

I agree. That's why I frequent CAA;s boards less often cause they have gotten "less intresting". That and how the political atmosphere, I was busy debatin gpeople to death in other boards.

Yeah, the threads where it's just an all out debate (aka brawl) are really annoying. You say something there and you're toast.

I know what you mean, but to do somethin' 'bout that you gotta post yourself. If you're so ticked off, start a campaign.

Since an "official administrative presence" is missing from this thread, it's probably a good idea to post now.

We are discussing some changes to the look/feel of CAA that touch on this very topic. Rest assured that your concerns are not going unheeded. In fact, you are sort of mirroring our own thoughts/feelings.

Then don't go to it. Some of us like to go wild sometimes, and its a great, safe place to do so. It kind of sounds as though you (and a few others) are saying that those of us members who frequent the Goof Off sections are imbeciles, and embarass you. If you don't mean it that way, then, you have my pre-arranged apology, but, like I said, if you don't like something, ignore it.

No, no, no. You are not idiots but even Goof Off should have a high standard of Goof Offnessness. It should be Goof Off of high calibre. But yes, I do think many of the Goof Off posts are embarassing and not necessary.

It appears it is time for another administrative presence to manifest itself...

I would hope this thread does not become an argument between those who feel differently about Goof Off. Regardless of my own opinions, we certainly don't need any accusations from either side. At the moment everything is civil enough, but I believe in preventative action.

Hmmm... If you feel there aren't enough interesting and relevant threads, then it's time to create some yourself. And post in the ones you find interesting. Not much else you can do, I guess.

...A .... Ugh, never mind, never mind... There really is not point in arguing about this. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions... But you know, maybe sometime, you can try coming in for awhile. Yes, you won't get any post counts, but that's the beauty of it. None of us in there thinks that we're posting because we want to raise our post count. It's just pure, mad fun. XD

Anyways.... *throws peace flowers at everyone* ^^

You can't. The goof off forum (and I think the RPG forum too, but I could be wrong) is set not to add anything to your post count.

Ashley, I just posted at the RPG forum to see if the posts count - and they don't. ~_^

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

CHLOE MADE AN UNNECESSARY POST! Oh, the darkness of these evil days! ;)
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Oh, my gosh. First the unnecessary post and now false deities. I'm leaving now.

I think sooner or later everyone has to make a stupid thread, because we don't all have the same interests. What is a stupid thread to you might not be a stupid thread to me. I can imagine that the bishie thread looks stupid to alot of the guys, but that was voted CAA's favorite thread. It's all about how you look at it, I guess.

It may not be possible to increase your post count by posting in the Goof Off forum or in the RPG forums, but your post count will increase in the General forum. By complete coincidence, that's where this thread happens to be.

I think that this thread has outlived its usefulness at this point. The annoyance has been logged, and now we are devolving into bickering with the occasional unnecessary post. In the interest of keeping the goof off in the Goof Off (don't think about the semantics of that), I am closing this thread.
