What happens when BOTH parties get 269 votes?
Correct, if it does happen (which it has in the past) it goes before the house for a vote.
But back to the electoral college. It was put into the constitution to protect the small states and give them a say. If there wasn't one the politicans would only campaign in the big cities. But everyone has their opinions.
