Favorite season of Sailor Moon^^

C'mon, I know there's more Sm fans out there! I finally accomplished watching EVERYTHING Sailor Moon! Ended up buying all four boxset seasons and the three movies. I'd get Sailor Stars but it's still a ways away from getting here :/ Watched the somewhat interesting live-action as well and I also doubt that will come over here for a LONG time!

So anyhow, which season did you enjoy the best? I'd say for me was Sailor Stars, especially the begining arc of it. It was just awsome. Nice overall ending of the series (Sailor Moon finales never dissapoint me).

Coming VERY close to first would be S. A real good series. It was a bit of a touchy series with the talk of finding the "Messiah" which turned out to be the most obvious person in the show.

FINALLY, a topic I can really get into!

Yes, I am a rabid SM fan. But, I may point out, you cannot have seen ALL of Sailor Moon. I have only seen 199 of the 200 episodes. Reason being, when ADV brought the box set of R over, one episode was missing (the number escapes me). It was the one where Chibiusa befriends a dinosaur. They couldn't find the original film for it, so it is forever lost as far as America is concerned.

That said, I believe the best season of SM was S. It introduced the outer Senshi, who are completely and totally awesome (they have the best transformation music!) as well as Sailor Saturn my FAVORITE SAILOR SENSHI EVER (see sig)! Too bad Hotaru-chan got absolutely and totally gypped in the anime.

A close second is R. R was a very good season as well, even if it DID introduce the pink-haired devil child whom Freud would have a field day with.

Stars is third. I suppose Stars might have been higher on the list if it had followed the manga more closely. First of all, in the manga the Starlights were female the WHOLE TIME. No gender antics like in the anime. Plus, the manga also had Sailor Phobos and Deimos, as well as Lethe and...the other one whose name I can't spell. Plus, one more Sailor Animate (a butterfly).

The worst season, in my opinion, was SuperS. The focus was on the irritating pink-haired demon, along with a gay dude and a "finishing move" that was WAY too long. And, unlike the manga, the outer Senshi don't show up. BOO. The SuperS manga was where you found out that Hotaru-chan was the one who lowered her Silence Glaive and iced the Moon Kingdom, not Beryl!

Actually, now that I think about it, the manga was good all around...

Why's that? I found a BT site a while back that had VHS rips of all of Stars. It also hosted the other non liscened eps like the SuperS special and Ami's first love. Elsewhere, I found a subtitled ep of Sailor Moon R ep 67 (because it's just not fair that it was taken out!) Although it was an odd ep... Plesiosaurs, but not surprising with Japan's discovery of one's flesh.

The Tokyopop translation turned me away from wanting to buy them. Dub names plus the literal translation of "Bunny". Oy oy. Luckily my friend bought the first few volumes in Japanese so it'll make up and help see how my Japanese vocab has improved (yay for furigana!)

I'm a huge Sailor Moon fan but, alas, i have only been able to watch it on the old WB airing of it. I'm not sure of the "real" names for each season, can someone give me the breakdown of each season (I know the first one). I know about the first, the one with the tree (the one with the White Tuxido-max guy), the one where Rini (Chibiusa) showed up, the Out Planets (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune Pluto) and i forget the 5th season. Will someone give me the real names for each season?

Oh, btw i liked the first season (Negaverse) best.

I don't watch Sailor Moon anymore, but my favorite season was R. not so much the first part of it with the tree and the two aliens (I forgot their original names), but the stuff with Black Moon and Prince Diamond (or whatever name you want to call him by) was really cool. I always felt so sorry for Sapphire (what was the original name again?).

who's seen the movies? I used to have all three uncut and subtitled and my favorites were R and S, but especially S because of the cute story about Luna. somewhat silly but so cute nonetheless. it also had really good music.

SuperS was a really boring movie :\ the only thing I really liked about it was that cute little fairy boy, Peruru. lol.

Sailor Moon was my first anime. I was wondering why no one else had started a thread about it. I like the first season the best because the 5 episode finale in Japanese was so dramatic and awesome (DIC really did a hack job on those). I haven't watched all the episodes of the SM series, I think I've seen probably 70% of the series, including specials and movies.

I think I like Stars the most because its the only one the HAVEN'T dubbed yet! (Serena's voice is SO annoying in the AMerican version...)

They're listed in proper order in the poll. Sailor Moon is season one, Sailor Stars is season 5.

I've seen the first four seasons and the first is my favorite. I like the outer senshi and I really like Saturn, especially as a tragic character, but the strongest story with the first. Good vs Evil, sacrafice and friendship. Good stuff.

R Movie:
This is my favorite one. I already watched it three times (un cut, of course). The whole Mamaru and Fiore thing was just cute about trying to bring flowers. I didn't find it shounen-ai, it was just two childhood friends. But when I first heard Moon Revenge start when Princess Serenity faught I'm like "0_0! This is great!" I tried watching the "Power of Love" dub theme but... the dub voices totally turned me off. With Darien saying "My love!" in a cheesy voice, it was enough for me.

S Movie:
This is my second favorite. Luna got her wish at the very end! Too bad we never see Artemis in that form like in the manga.

SuperS Movie:
I first watched it as a dub and it was HORRIBLE. Re watched it as a sub and it was lsightly better :/ Goes to show you what those voices can really do!

My favorite SM movie is the R movie too! "Moon Revenge" is a great song. It's cool how the voice actors for the senshi are also good singers. S was also very enjoyable. For once someone on that series could figure out identities. Plus, "Moonlight Destiny" was a pretty song to play during the credits. I liked SuperS because of the song that the hypnotized children would sing (I annoyed my best friend for months with the melody :lol:

).

Ive seen all up to Super S and the 3 movies.....
I like R (doomtree and future eps) becuase Pluto rox, but I also like S becuase Saturn. Hotaru and Setsuna are totally awesome! ^_^
Ah memories.... this is an anime that hasnt been discussed in awhile...

I LOVE Sailor Moon, which just annoyes all my other anime friends to death, since a lot of them don't like anything Shoujo

. I own all the movies and episodes (official DVDs, plus fansubs for 67 and stars) and I have the whole manga series. The only episodes I havn't seen are the specials. My favorite season is definitly Stars, because it was a lot darker and more serious than any of the other seasons, but it still had enough humor so that it didn't become too depressing. The animation quality went up and the transformations and attacks were really cool. The star lights are also some of my favorite characters; I love their japanese VAs, their transformations and attacks, and their theme music is some of the best in the whole series. (I sang Shooting Star at my school's talent show and tied for first prize ^^) The 6 epsode final battle is one of the best conclusions any anime series has ever had. Overall, stars rocked. My favorite movie of the three was the R movie because it had the best music, best fight scenes, and had a lot of cool friendship moments between the scouts.

I'm not going to say I'm a big Sailor Moon fan, though just slightly amused. ^_~ ...Okay, so I bought the three movies. *hangs head* I think the S movie is my favorite of the three, just because it seems to have a little more plot to it than the other two (and it takes place around Christmas time). ^_^

By the way, did I mention that Sailor Moon is from Alberta? :grin:

Seriously -- Terri Hawkes, who provides Serena's English voice for most of the first two seasons and for the three movies, is originally from Alberta. (And of the three Serena voices that I've heard, I think Terri Hawkes' is probably the least annoying.)

Oh, no offense taken, termyt.

My favorite season was S, but it's hard to choose as far as movies are concerned. I saw the S movie first, and it was the first time I'd ever seen the outer Senshi or heard the original voice actresses or henshin music.

However, as good as it was (and as neat as it was to see Luna's human form in the anime), the storyline was kind of lacking compared with R. "Moon Revenge" absolutely and totally rocks, and the storyline was better too. Though like someone (don't remember who :sweat:

) said earlier, all those yaoi-crazed fangirls want to make Mamoru and Fiore's relationship more "intimate." Grr... :shady:

Plus, it tied in with the series, which I'm sure most fans noticed...Fiore's outfit and appearance were similar to Ail and Ann, as well as his background. He must have been a lost child of the "Doom Tree" (don't remember the Japanese name...)

I've already seen the movie 3 times and I need to see it again!
*sigh* Mamaru and Fiore's relationship is nothing more than real good friends because of both their pasts... the whole bringing flower thing was quite cute (especially when chibi Usagi gave a rose to Mamaru to give to Fiore ^^ The kawaiiness!!)

But... too bad my friends are all like "eww Sailor Moon??" Well, some want to watch the show but they would rather watch the dreaded DUB!! GAH! Meh, maybe sometime I'll strap them down to a chair and make 'em.

I haven't seen Sailor moon in so long!! I want to get all of it!! waaaaaaaaaaaa! I just bought the Sialor Moon movie Hearts in Ice...cut version on vhs..but it was on sale...and I'm hungry for Sailor scouts...no matter how bad the dub might be....>_< My favorite movie is R! I rented it so many times! I wish that someone would bring it back on tv! waaaaaaaaa! *sniff* I wish I could remember all the episodes I've seen....I think my favorite is Helios? the Pegasus guy....Is that his name?
