Here's another fad: Spice Girls! VERY popular at my school and here's some stuff I remember:

-everyone wanted platform shoes
-girls collected PILES of Spice photos
-bought the Spice Girls suckers to collect the stickers
-one girl bought flavored carboned water because it was one girl's favorite drink (how do I remember these things?)
-when the movie came out, our theatre can seat a lot, but so many people wanted to see Spice World, that they had to kick out people (and the line-ups were outrageous)
-the movie was horrible, but we all loved it because the girls were in it
-buying the dolls, even if we stopped playing wih Barbies years back
-during gym class five girls would lip sinq songs like Stop EVERY DAY. No wonder why I still remember the lyrics...
-watch the music videos and concerts on TV as much as possible
-one of my friends went down to Vegas as a family trip and caught the concert

Yes... just as crazy as the Pokemon fad that came into market about a year later.

I remember being obsessed with those like in 3rd grade. I can't believe I actually had/bought those. Maybe there worth some money now..... :)

Pogs! I remember those! lol I still have a bunch of the burried somwhere in my closet lol

For Sunako: they're little cardboard poker chip looking things that you'd stack then you'd take a big heavier one and bounce it off the top of the stack and see how many you could knock down *I think that's how you played, I haven't done it in awhile, lol*

and I also had a tomogochi but I got so anoyed at the beeping that I killed it XD

Oh no...I remeber Pogs, Tamagotchi's, and Furby. I threw away all my pogs a couple years I still remember I had this "awesome" slammer that was bronze with a holographic dragon design on it. I always hated Tamagotchi's and Furby because when friends of mine had them I noticed how annoying they were. I think the 90's had the lamest fads of any decade.:eyeroll:

Ok, ok...does anyone remember old school G.I. Joes? The big ones and then the little action figures that were held together by a rubberband? And old school Transformers too!

Even in Japan those things were everywhere.

I grew up on G.I. Joe and Transformers man. I had the giant G.I. Joe tank with a million plastic missles that I all lost in like a month. I had some Transformers too but not that many.

Dude! I had that tank...and cardboard forts are the reason that half of my G.I. Joes "died" (basically I would trap them in the boxes and light them on fire).

Oh! I remember those! I remember I was really mad that my parents got me one of those instead of a Nano-pet. My cousin had a cute Kola Bear pet--- and I had this mutant egg thing. Yes, Osaka was not a happy camper. ;)
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Omigosh Furbies O_O Those things were pure evil *shudder* mine wouldn't shut up! I had to take the batteries out.

I remember the crazy bones things! And I had so many pokemon cards until my mom decided they were bad and took them away. I could never use yoyos well and most of my tamagochis ran out of batteries ;;_;;

Did anyone have a Tickle Me Elmo? I remember my aunt got me one. Apparently they were hard to get? We found that thing in the basement a few years ago and had fun throwing it against the wall to make it laugh... yes me and my brothers are violent children...

Eventually I'll sell all my beanie babies on ebay and make money to buy manga ^^

I remember I used to kill my tamagochis. Lol, I think it killed it once by overfeeding it. I think it may have exploded, not sure. Lol. All the other times I just didn't feed it. I remember one of them broke (I had several bc my friends would give them to me when they got too annoying; how nice of them) and it just kept beeping and beeping and beeping... hours and hours straight. I started beating the thing with a hammer and it still wouldn't break. So in the end, I wrapped it up in towels and shoved it in the bottom of my sock drawer. Couldn't hear it, but I still wonder... why didn't I just throw it out? Lol.
