unwanted room decor

Postby soul alive » Tue Oct 19, 2004 9:24 am

while i was attempting to get some sleep the other night, i found something(s) in my room that gave me a bit of a shock.

for a bit of background - i am currently living in a dorm room, with a loft bed, and the room has a huge permenant corkboard in it, right by my bed.

sleep was being a bit elusive, so i was staring at the corkboard... and i saw a star scratched into it... looked closer and saw that it was in fact a pentagram. i looked at another spot on the board, and found a second, smaller pentagram. so i took my x-acto and scratched over them. i didn't feel quite right just leaving them there, or just covering them up. i was kind of creeped out that they were there, that it took me so long to notice them (about 2 months), and that i have no way of knowing if there are more elsewhere in my room.
:( :shady:

yeah - but sadly, it's physically built into the wall... so i have to live with scratch marks on the board. (better than pentagrams though).

"The advice I like to give young artists, or really anybody who’ll listen to me, is not to wait around for inspiration. Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work. If you wait around for the clouds to part and a bolt of lightning to strike you in the brain, you are not going to make an awful lot of work. All the best ideas come out of the process; they come out of the work itself. Things occur to you. If you’re sitting around trying to dream up a great art idea, you can sit there a long time before anything happens. But if you just get to work, something will occur to you and something else will occur to you and something else that you reject will push you in another direction. Inspiration is absolutely unnecessary and somehow deceptive. You feel like you need this great idea before you can get down to work, and I find that’s almost never the case." - Chuck Close[/color]

Its just a symbol. It doesn't have any power on its own, its when people use it to curse things or whatever that its not good. Remember no matter how powerful the devil is God is greater in power and strength!

Since someone asked, a better definition may help.

A pentagram is a five pointed star - the one that's easy to draw that we all did as kids.

The pentagram itself is not satanic, as a matter of fact, to the Japanese, it's a mystic symbol but it isn't demonic. If you watch those types of anime, the good guys will use a pentagram and the bad guys will use a six pointed star - what we call the Star of David. Anyway, the satanic version has a pentagram with a point oriented straight down and placed within a double circle. Within the circles are usually the Hebrew letters that spell out Leviathan. Also, the visage of Baphomet (a goat headed god) is often drawn within the pentagram.

Well, I hope all of that was useful to someone. Special thanks to wikipedia for reminding me who Baphomet was and what written in the double circle.

even though the symbol doesn't have power itself, that it was there, right above my head, was what mainly freaked me out. (i get paranoid and freaked out very easily - makes for good amusement for people around me, but high stress for me - lol ^^. God and i are working on that problem). besides me being at the highly rational state of 'stressed out' - it was around midnight. oh well, i probably would have scratched it off anyway, had i found it some other time.

Yow...and finding it out at night must only make it more scary! I probably would have scratched it out too, or done something of the like.
