All-Purpose Cultural Cat Girl

well I just recieved this anime in the mail today, and I guess I should start watching it.
I really don't know anything about this anime. Like Most anime's I own I blind buy, I barley even pay attention to Reviews or anything like that.
I go around a few places online and if I can find it for a CHEAP price and sure it's not bootleg, I usually get it. In this case I got the 6 OVA of this anime for 4.25 dollars (shipping included).

So I guess one thing that gets me, is This is the OVA. So I guess it makes it SAFE to watch, but would anyone recommend I see the TV series first?

Basicly I've never been to fond of OVA's. The only ones that I've been able to find that are any good tend to not have a TV series.
but most of the OVA's I've seen sucked. (in my opinion).

In some cases when viewing an OVA first, it totally backs me up from even checking out the tv series, in one case it took 2 years of convincing before I was even willing to give the tv series a try.

So I dunno..... Should I view this OVA now, or wait till I see the TV series?

NUKU-NUKU!

Um, yeah.

What OAVs have you seen? The only OAVs I've seen that I didn't like were the Fushigi Yugi ones...usually I like the OAVs better, especially in the case of El-Hazard (I HATE Wanderers).

But, everyone is welcome to their opinion.

I haven't seen the TV series of Nuku-Nuku, in fact it JUST started being released in America a couple of months ago. There are three series of Nuku-Nuku:

The six episode OAV, the TV series, and the OTHER TV series Nuku-Nuku DASH, which I got bored with 'cuz I couldn't figure out WHY they called her a cat girl (it's obvious in the OAV, maybe I just didn't watch far enough into DASH to find out).

I liked the six episode series. I have no intention of watching the Nuku-Nuku TV series, it looks too goofy and weird for my tastes.

I think you've got the best one there, and I think you'll enjoy it. :thumb:

The OVA's were actually released first, so it's OK to go ahead and watch them. They are also, IMHO, the best of Nuku Nuku. It's pretty funny and contains some really classic moments.

The latest releases - the Nuku Nuku TV show is along the same lines as the OVA series, but it goes into a little bit more detail and a lot more tangents. It's also both pretty good and some what annoying for the same reason. It's basically a retelling of the OVA series with more of a focus on Nuku Nuku and less on Ryonosuke (the male lead of the series).

Nuku Nuku Dash is a completely different series where all of the relationships and personalities of the characters change considerably. I didn't care as much for this series.

Hmmm, Well I just finished watching the OVA. My personal Opinion is that I really Loved many of the character's exspecally Nuku. Overall I liked this OVA. The only real problem I had with it was episode 5 which offended me.

That said I think i'm gonna move on and watch the other tv series, I'd like to see more to the story and hahaha of course More Nuku. Since she's my favorite I don't think the tv showing more of her and her mostly will hurt me.

i recommend going to amazon.com and search there market place (just put a title in there search engin and see if they have a new and used colume for it.)
Don't purchase UNLESS you see region 1, or offical release otherwise you'd probably be buying bootleg.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/offer-listing/B00007JZO3/qid=1098134163/sr=1-1/ref=sr_pb_a//102-4698386-6402568?condition=all

Look at Crazyprice. He's selling it for 3.58, It's more then I paid for it brand new on this spot. But hey his still only comes up to around 7 dollars total.
I can also recommend Crazyprice since all the ones i've gotten from him have indeed been offical.

*small off-topic question*
Ok I'm Canadian and I found something nice and cheap that I can get on amazon.com but NOT amazon.ca. Is it alright to... trust international orders like that? I knwo the money converts and all, but yeah I just hope that it'll actually get over here (just if anyone foreign to US would know). *wants Escaflowne LE boxset for cheap!*
*done*

But yeah, enjoy your new Nuku Nuku. And even if it's not good, it's not like you paid full price for it!

The only Offical Limited Edition of Escaflowne I see is for 175. I have the set myself, and really the only two things you get is two special nifty boxes and a little toy. there is another escaflowne set coming out that's much cheaper.
Anyways I own the limited edition set. hehehe I bought it last year for 102.

Anyways since i'm not from Canada I can't really answer your question.

ALSO I think Cat Girl Nuku was good and worth the price. The only problem I had was episode 5 which like I said offended me, but otherwise... it was good.
